Currently, Concern is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions under the DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods Project which will be implemented in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar

PROJECT COORDINATOR (01 POST): The Project Coordinator – DRR and Livelihoods will be responsible for the overall implementation of the IOM-funded DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods project targeting host communities in Cox Bazar at Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas. S/He is expected to ensure timely implementation of the project deliverables as per the project work plan and to provide leadership and technical guidance in the implementation of both the DRR and livelihoods component.  He/She will be responsible for the general planning, oversight, coordination and monitoring of the project as well as ensuring a strict adherence to quality.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee the set-up of project office and all activities outlined in the DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods Project proposal.
  • Facilitate the effective implementation of the CBDP model and resilient livelihoods model in consultation with Disaster Management Committees (DMCs) and other stakeholders.
  • Provide direction to the project staff and lead the planning and implementation of project activities.
  • Conduct capacity building, training and workshops for staffs, DMC members and other stakeholders as relevant for this project.
  • Ensure adherence to the humanitarian accountability principles in project operation.
  • Oversee the project budget and provide forecasts of monthly expenditures.
  • Work closely with the project team members to provide overall support to risk mitigation and disaster preparedness activities in line with project objectives.
  • Support the logistics team to develop a procurement and distribution plan for all equipment required.
  • Liaise closely with the M&E Officer in developing and implementing systems for monitoring activities, tracking progress towards results, and managing project information.
  • Ensure timely data collection and reporting including producing monthly reports and an end of program evaluation report.
  • Ensure documentation of lessons learnt during the implementation of project activities.
  • Ensure strong coordination links with IOM, UN agencies and other I/NGOs working in the project locations and engage them in coordination meetings where required
  • Facilitate meetings with programme staff to regularly review programme implementation and performance.
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.) as well as the “Do No Harm” principles and Conflict sensitive approach.
  • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Concern Country Director or the line manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Master or Bachelor degree in social science with advanced training and professional experience in the field of Disaster Management. 
  • 8 years’ experience including 5 years managerial experience in implementing DRR, resilience and livelihoods projects & programmes.
  • Sound understanding on approved CBDP model and community based DRR programmes.
  • Experienced in the management of development and emergency programmes.
  • Knowledge of latest developments in DRR and food security in Bangladesh country context
  • Knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluation
  • Analytical, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to problem solve and good decision making skills
  • Knowledge of conflict-sensitive emergency and development programming in refugee and host communities.
  • Sound verbal and written skills in English.
