Title of the Position: Field Coordinator –Floods Resilience  Project
Number of Position: One (01)
Type of Contract:  Fixed Term Contract (1st December 2018—30th April 2023)
Gross Annual Salary range (inclusive of Festival Bonus & Gratuity): As per organization’s policy
Duty Station: Rangpur with frequent field visit at Project site

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • The Field Coordinator will play a key role in community mobilization, community need identification, and ensure efficient implementation of community level intervention i.e resilience activities at the community level.
  • The Field Coordinator will ensure program participants and CBOs and stakeholders that the project is working with have access to the project information on local language, and for any development intervention the informed consent of the beneficiaries are obtained.
  • As a member of the senior project management team, the Field Coordinator will support the partner organization team on development of integrated community level planning.
  • Develop appropriate MoUs / Agreements with communities and beneficiaries to ensure role clarity into joint project initiatives.
  • Ensure quality monitoring indicators are developed for Zurich interventions and regular information collection on each agreed indicators and reported through reports as per organizational and donor needs.
  • Organize regular internal monitoring and impact assessment visits from the targeted villages in coordination with M&E unit.
  • Develop and submit accurate monthly work plans and reports to line manager copying the Head of Program / Programme Director for the information. 
  • Develop high quality donor reports for resilience related activities that is contributing to the project donor reports as required.
  • Ensure government participation in key social events such as trainings, exposure visits, workshops etc, as appropriate.
  • Develop training modules in any aspect of resilience where deemed necessary
  • To assist the Partners’ Project team and develop their technical capacity to deliver high quality support that would ensure the community resilience.
  • Liaise with relevant government departments, relevant institutions, NGO networks as advised by the line manager/Head of Programme.

Key Requirements:


  • Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or Social Science or related discipline.

Job related experience and knowledge:

  • At least five years’ experience of DRR/ NRM / Agriculture / Forestry/Watersheds, resilience building etc.
  • Experience of staff management.
  • Experience in CBO trainings and experience of developing training modules and extension materials such as leaflets and posters.
  • Experience in the establishment and support of community led projects particularly DRR/NRM / Watershed activities.
  • Experience of leading a development project for minimum two years will be an added value.

Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements:

  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) essential.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in Team, respect team decisions and support multi-cultural team members.
  • Strong leadership qualities and willingness to exercise initiative and work independently.
  • Must have a ‘hands on’, practical mentality, be self-driven and very motivated.
