Currently, Concern is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions under the DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods Project which will be implemented in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar

COMMUNITY MOBILIZER (07 POSTS): The Community Mobiliser will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a community mobilisation component of the DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods project at Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas in Cox’s Bazaar. He/She will support the implementation of the community mobilization, DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods activities, with a particular focus on targeted institutions and supporting vulnerable families. He/She will be responsible for organising meetings and workshops, facilitating community risk assessment processes and community level training, and ensuring relevant activities are implemented at Union and Ward level.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Mobilize the community according to planned project activities
  • Arrange and facilitate community consultation meetings for community risk assessments (CRAs), risk reduction activity planning (RRAP) and others DRR & livelihoods activities at union level
  • Organize the community level training at union level
  • Conduct focus group discussions and meetings with vulnerable groups in target communities
  • Organize awareness events at community level
  • Close liaison with union chairman, secretary and others union level stakeholders
  • Regular communication with project beneficiaries at field level.
  • Orient volunteers on the Complaints Response Mechanism (CRM) within Concern Worldwide’s programming
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.)
  • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Country Director or line manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in social science with training on Disaster Management.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in implementing emergency, DRR or food security projects.
  • Technical knowledge on community based DRR interventions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable collaboration with local government and community members
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, plan effectively and meet deadlines
  • Proficient knowledge of standard computer software (desired)
