Currently, Concern is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions under the DRR, Resilience and Livelihoods Project which will be implemented in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar

PROJECT OFFICER (01 POST): The Project Officer will be responsible for providing technical support, delivering trainings, conducting follow-up, and providing guidance to staff and targeted community members, in relation to planned DRR and livelihoods activities. S/He will ensure implementation of the community risk assessment (CRA) process, as well as the development and implementation of the risk reduction action plans (RRAPs), and contingency plans in the targeted locations. In addition, the Project Officer will ensure livelihoods trainings are implemented as per the agreed model and workplan plan. S/He will maintain close coordination with Upazila and Union level stakeholders and facilitate the day-to-day activities in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilas.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the implementation of the all community-level resilience and livelihoods, with a focus on implementing DRR activities in partnership with local government entities.
  • Develop and impart necessary trainings for staff, community members and partners related to DRR strategies and community based approaches.
  • Ensure follow-up of all activities and provide feedback and reports to the Project Coordinator – DRR and Livelihoods within stipulated timeframes.
  • Contribute to effective and timely implementation of Community Led-DRR interventions and initiatives with communities and Union Parishad.
  • Mobilize and sensitize representatives from line Government agencies at Upazila level and other stakeholders to proactively take part in strengthening community resilience to shocks.
  • Develop and maintain networks with external actors at the union and upazila levels on DRR, Livelihood, Early Warning/Early Action and emergency response/recovery.
  • Coordinate with the Project Coordinator and M&E Officer to ensure that monitoring and evaluation tools are in place and utilized in a timely manner
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports for forwarding to the Project Coordinator, capturing the progress against approved work plans and budgets.
  • Regularly document success stories, lessons, key learnings/innovations
  • Orient volunteers on the Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) within Concern Worldwide’s programming
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.)
  • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Country Director or line manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Master or Bachelor degree in social science with advanced training and/or professional experience in the field of Disaster Management. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in implementing DRR, Resilience and livelihood projects & programmes. (DIPECHO experience will be considered as added value)
  • Technical knowledge on community based DRR interventions
  • Experience in facilitating CRA process
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of latest developments in DRR and food security in Bangladesh country context
  • Experience in report writing
  • Monitoring and Evaluation skills.
  • Good knowledge of conflict sensitive emergency and development programmes in refugee and host communities.
  • Good verbal and written skills in English.
  • Proficient knowledge of standard computer software if possible.
