Title of the Position: Research Coordinator
Number of Position: One (01)
Type of Contract:  Fixed Term Contract till 31st  December 2021
Gross Annual Salary range (inclusive of Festival Bonus & Gratuity): As per organization’s policy
Duty Station: Head Office, Dhaka with frequent field visit

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • To develop and deliver Concern’s Research Plan through the design, coordination and oversight of research studies aligned to Concern’s programme interventions.
  • Support programme teams to develop research Scope of Work in collaboration with research partners, defining the research objectives, questions, research methodology and methods, ethics, work plan, budget and dissemination plan.
  • To ensure the quality of data collection and analysis of data to produce insightful and informative research findings.
  • Provide technical input into the development of appropriate research methodology and ensure that the research methods and data collection tools are applied correctly, comprehensively and with rigour and integrity.
  • Provide training and guidance to enumerators and field researchers where required.
  • To ensure the quality of data collection and analysis of data to produce insightful and informative research findings.
  • Strengthen Concern Bangladesh position as an organisation for the elimination of extreme poverty through effective and far-reaching dissemination of Concern’s research findings, by producing high quality publications and exciting, interesting and insightful public events.
  • To support programme/ project teams and partners in designing, planning and revising project strategies and activities using research findings and learning captured from research.
  • To work collaboratively with team members to ensure excellence within Project and Concern work is captured, promoted and disseminated.
  • To contribute in the process of implementing quality programme by ensuring that the CHS standard of accountability is conceptualized and effectively implemented throughout the organization, and at the country programme level.
  • To engage in emergency response operation as and when required by Concern Worldwide.

Key Requirements:

  • Masters in Social Science (Development Studies, Demography/ Economics/ Sociology/ Anthropology are preferred)
  • At least five (05) years progressively responsible work experience in the area of research in development with a strong understanding of research principles, methodologies and process.
  • Prior experience of research in two of Concern Bangladesh priority research areas of urban extreme poverty, resilience and health.
  • Experience of managing and overseeing a diverse and multi- disciplinary research portfolio.
  • Experience in working with and managing relationships with international research institutes and researchers, head office advisers, and local research organizations.
  • Experience of developing quantitative and qualitative research tools and overseeing data collection. Experience of survey design, data collection and analysis is essential.
  • Strong track record of producing research publication in the development and humanitarian sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of EU data protection laws (GDPR) and ethical approval process in Bangladesh, is considered an advantage.
  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.
  • Willingness to travel to field offices frequently as per need.
