Title of the Position: Nutrition Advisor
Number of Position: One (01)
Type of Contract:  Fixed Term Contract till November, 2021
Gross Annual Salary range (inclusive of Festival Bonus & Gratuity): As per organization’s policy
Duty Station: Head Office, Dhaka with frequent field visit

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership in the assessment, design and development of new project/programmes, ensuring quality nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions are integrated into Concern’s multi-sectoral programming approach.
  • Conduct and maintain an analysis of nutrition needs, development trends and the nutrition sector within Bangladesh to contribute towards the development, design and management of nutrition related programmes/projects. Collect updated information, analyse, identify and report on nutrition needs and trends (e.g. social, economic, nutrition, health) within Bangladesh to enhance programme management, efficiency and delivery of results.
  • To provide strategic and technical guidance to the team and partners to ensure that the Nutrition Component of development and emergency programmes are implemented ensuring the highest level of technical quality.
  • Ensure that needs analysis for training of nutrition team, partners is undertaken, and facilitate capacity building support to team and partner staff as required
  • As a member of the core team, work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high quality support to the projects, programme and excellence within Concern’s work.
  • To lead and guide the secretariat of CSA for SUN in Bangladesh.
  • To ensure that the necessary resources are available for the project and utilized effectively to implement a high quality project.
  • Guide the Nutrition Coordinators and partners to ensure nutrition activities are implemented in line with project budgets and ensure value for money.
  • Establish and implement the system to ensure transparency and accountability in utilisation of resources.
  • Guide Concern’s team and all partners to ensure that the CHS standard of accountability is conceptualized and effectively implemented throughout the organization, and at the country programme level.

Key Requirements:

  • Masters in Nutrition/ Public health and nutrition or relevant discipline.
  • At least 8- 10 years progressively responsible work experience in the area of community based nutrition programme planning, management, implementation, monitoring and capacity building. At least 5 years of working experience at senior level.
  • Proven experience of leading and managing a large nutrition project/ programme and experience of working across multiple nutrition projects in both development and humanitarian settings.
  • Technical knowledge and skill to build the capacity of partners and provide guidance to field staff on community based nutrition interventions.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of IYCN (Infant and young Child Nutrition) and IYCF-E, CMAM implementation, Facility Base SAM management, Maternal nutrition especially implementation and management of the OTP.
  • In depth understanding of nutrition policies in Bangladesh, including National Nutrition Policy, Food Policy, NPAN2, 7th FYP, SUN commitment as well as global commitment like- SDG, ICN, N4G etc.
  • Excellent project management skills including the demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, analysis, design, planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience of working in urban health and nutrition project/programme preferred.
