Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. With its head quarter in Ireland, Concern has been working in Bangladesh since 1972.

Currently, Concern is looking for suitable candidates for the following position under the Emergency Nutrition Project for the Rohingya Refugees in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. 

COMMUNICATIONS AND DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST - Emergency Response Projects in Cox’s Bazar: He/she is responsible for increasing and promoting the profile of Emergency Response Projects of Concern Worldwide, Bangladesh in Cox’s Bazar by producing and commissioning high-quality communications content which will be communicated internally and externally with donors, general public and other identified target audiences. S/he will oversee and ensure that branding, visibility, emergency communications polices of Concern Worldwide are adhered to.

S/he will work with internal stakeholders including communications team-members, field team and RRRU team members to develop human stories, case studies, photography, videos, reports, infographics, media and social media content etc. S/he will also be representing Concern Worldwide in selected sectoral and coordination meetings to promote the work of the emergency response project.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Produce communications content such case studies, human stories, blog, infographics, textual content, one pager, publications a regular basis.
  • Document visual evidence of field interventions through photographs/video and closely work with ‘Communications Unit’ to produce high-quality audio-visual products. 
  • Produce branding and wide visibility products in line with Concern’s brand guideline and ensure strong profile of Concern Worldwide in the field
  • Work  as the  brand  Ambassador of  Communication  and profile organisations’ brand at in all project activities by utilising appropriate communication methods and tools and thereby to reinforce organisation’s identity
  • Support Concern Bangladesh’s Emergency department and Technical Unit in preparing and editing quarterly progress and completion reports for the donor, and other outputs as requested by the donor.
  • Support in process documentation of trips, events, projects, approaches for amendments and improvements as required.
  • Orientating partner’s staff on Concern’s P4 policy and code of conduct, and preventing any abuse or violation of rights of targeted beneficiaries within contextual programme areas. 
  • Enable a friendly collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective learning and sharing across the team.
  • Participate in monthly and weekly report compilation and support the capturing of best practices
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.)

Key Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or any other relevant subject.
  • At least five (05) years professional experience in mass communications, journalism or public relations, with a non-government organization (preferably that carries out Nutrition focused programs), among which two years should be in leadership and Strategic communication Development.
  • Excellent documentation on photographic and writing and/or video skills is preferred.
  • Good knowledge in printing and publication of documents
  • Experience in working with different kinds of media
  • Proper documentation of all materials should be managed in a highly professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of the development sector/Humanitarian sector   and issues in Bangladesh Programs  preferably in  the Nutrition programs
  • An energetic, analytic and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and Value  Diversity
  • Be proactive, ability to foster a team approach, and must   have commitment to broader mission.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic communication plans. Ensure team members are working effectively with clients to assess the situation/need, compile and analyze research,
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal as well as in Bangla.
  • Good  Presentation Skills in Bengali and English
  • Proficient knowledge of standard computer software.
  • Willing to be based in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
