Concern Universal is preparing a large project on rice and crop diversification with an aim to improve small holder productivity and strengthen competiveness of market systems. In this context, the organization is looking for a qualified, dynamic and motivated individual to fill up the following position:
“Team/Technical Leader – rice”
Project: Rice and diversified Crops Activity
Location: Based in Dhaka and Southwest districts of Bangladesh
Reporting to: Chief of Party
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the role is for the technical design and implementation of the project. S/he will work closely with project partners. S/he will be expected to travel to the field frequently and spend a significant proportion of her/his time in the field working with project participants and other stakeholders. S/he will provide technical inputs specific to rice production and rice markets systems.
The position requires an individual with:
- Master’s degree (equivalent) or higher in respective sectoral fields and significant years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience must be in managing sectors and/or sub-sectors of agricultural/agribusiness/value chain development interventions in respective sectoral fields they proposed to manage
- Technical experience with rice production and rice market systems
- Supply chain development in the agricultural sector
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and experience in managing teams
- Experience relevant to accomplishment of the cross-cutting objectives in the cooperative agreement, including gender, youth and cultural change
- Demonstrated strong writing and oral presentation skills in English
