Concern Universal – Bangladesh (CU-B) is a UK based International NGO working in Bangladesh since 1993 with the vision to see a world where justice, dignity and respect prevail for all. And our mission is to challenge poverty and inequality through working in partnership. Concern Universal is looking for a qualified and motivated individual to fill up the following position:
This position is for a 5 year multi-million dollar integrated development project in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. This contract has not been secured yet. Major Fields will be Agricultural Value Chain Development, Maternal and Child Health Care and Nutrition, Natural Resources Management and DRR. Major components will be (1) strengthening and regulation of informal service providers and (2) strengthening of community organizations and consultation mechanisms related to common interests.
For the purpose of this project, CU has formed a partnership with one INGO and 8 local NGOs that have a strong technical background and presence in the areas targeted under the project.
MAIN TASKS
- Ensure that the 8 project partners develop plans that are in line with agreed project design as well as specific conditions in the area for which they are responsible.
- Ensure timeliness, quality, impact and compliance with donor guidelines in terms of social and environmental safeguards as well as regulations for financial management and procurement. It will be a specific task of the coordinator to coach the 8 project teams in the development of a common vision and the delivery of the project objectives.
- Develop strong links with relevant government departments to facilitate replication of this model at a later stage and embed the services of private providers in a solid regulatory framework.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Master degree in economic or social sciences, or other relevant development related studies;
- A minimum of 10 years relevant senior management experience in developing countries with special reference to rural development, value chains and service
- At least 5 years’ experience in organizational development, training and facilitation
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication skills, and intercultural and gender sensitivity;
- Excellent spoken and written English;
