COAST Trust (www.coastbd.net) is a value based independent, non-profit and non-government organization (NGO), awarded special consultative status with UN Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC), working for the development and implementation of survival strategies for coastal poor since 1998. It believes in integration of right based approach in micro finance, striving for people centered sustainable development initiatives, maintaining a level of transparency, participation, accountability, gender sensitivity and respects to human rights principles in management.

Currently COAST in partnership with Fondation Hirondelle, Switzerland is implementing an information project in Cox’s Bazar. This project involves producing audio programmes which aim to increase the awareness of the community and refugees about services available to them and actions they can take to improve their lives. For this project COAST is seeking profiles from interested and creative candidates for following position:

Name of the position: Audio Production Manager

No. of vacancy: 01

Job location: Cox’s Bazar, with extensive presence in the Rohingya camps and host community

Job duration: 18 months

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a small team of Production Editors to produce audio programs;
  • Develop the format and story briefs for the audio productions and generate new ideas;
  • Editorial responsibility for all audio content and scripts for audio program productions;
  • Understand and identify the needs of the community and refugee camps and guide volunteer producers according to that for audio production;
  • Select and train up local and volunteer audio producers as well as the audio editors;
  • Maintain liaison with international staff, trainers and project officials;
  • Liaise with NGO / UN and government actors to ensure collaboration with the programmes as needed;
  • Provide reports on programme activities as needed.

Expected skills/ eligibility:

  • 3 years experiences of radio program production in any radio station or in any production house;
  • Some management experience of supervising staff
  • Editorial experience of following editorial guidelines for programme production
  • Proven experience of audio-visual production (sample works are required to show)
  • Storytelling capacity;
  • Creativity in audio program production;
  • Experience of sound recording, editing and mixing
  • Communication in English and Rohingya/ Cox’s Bazar local language;
  • Script Writing for audio program production;
  • Quick, smart and communicative;
  • Candidates of Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar will be preferred;

Education/ Training

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in relevant field;
  • Masters in Mass Communication & Journalism/ Film and Media/ Sociology/ English preferred;
  • Training/ short course on audio production/ audio-visual production;
  • Educational qualification could be flexible for expert candidates;

Salary: BDT 75,000/- to 80,000/-
