Communications and PR Specialist

About AIP

CNFA implements the five year $15 Million Agro-Inputs Project (AIP) in Bangladesh. The goal of AIP is to increase smallholder production and productivity in order to reduce poverty and improve food security in Bangladesh’s southern delta. Over the next five years, CNFA will deliver training, improved inputs, and related services across 20 southern districts, to a network of 3,000 agro input retailers, serving over 1 million smallholders, impacting more than 5 million individuals, and generating more than $100 million in sales.

Communications and PR Specialist

Working under direct supervision of the Communications Director, the Communications and PR Specialist will be responsible for actively promoting project’s successes and overseeing all documentation of program activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties of the Communications and PR Specialist are to:

  • Develop and oversee the documentation of all program activities including success stories, photo features, and marketing and branding materials i.e. newsletter, brochure, monthly price bulletin etc.
  • Maintain regular communications and network with mass media(Print & electronic) for media coverage, draft press releases, materials for media.
  • Develop and coordinate preparation of photo archives and video documentaries to promote the activities and branding of the project
  • Communicate the project’s activities and impacts to CNFA headquarters and stakeholders, as need basis.
  • Train and coordinate with the AIRN team on Branding and Marketing Campaign.
  • Support AIP on Public Awareness Campaigns, organizing Agricultural Exhibitions, Public-private Sector Seminars, Field Days, workshop and events for Proper Use of Seed, Fertilizer, and Pesticides.
  • Manage and upload project update information and oversee the development and content of project website; support the project to promote its activities and branding in social media.
  • Other duties assigned by the COP consistent with overall focus of the assignment.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field. Master’s preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a relevant competency area, including communications, international development, marketing or other.
  • 3 or more years implementing communication strategies and outreach campaigns on donor funded projects.
  • Experience developing and managing a project website.
  • Ability to interact with media and government on behalf of the project.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
