Accounts Officer

About CHRF
Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a non-profit research organization in Dhaka, Bangladesh, registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau. Founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations like World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), etc.  

We invite applications for the position “Accounts Officer” to join our finance team.

Job location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Employment term: Fixed-term/Regular

Vacancy: 1

Salary range: BDT 35,000 – 45,000 (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate)

Benefits: Contributory provident fund and festival allowance (Eid, Puja, Christmas Baishakhi)
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and Review bill/vouchers and prepare debit/credit/journal vouchers
  • Update transactions into accounting software
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly financial and budget variance report
  • Manage day to day office administration including availability communication and utility services
  • Provide needful logistical and procurement support to program activities
  • Visit project area, provide necessary support and assist in monitoring and supervision
  • Update stock register of project materials and office supplies
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to the project financial functions
  • Communicating with internal audit and external auditors during the project audits
  • Prepare a Monthly Project Utilization Report and provide to the relevant Project teams
  • Prepare FD-6, FD-4, and others report as per NGOAB compliance
  • Any other project related activities that might be assigned by the management as when be needed

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s in Accounting or Finance/MBA (Finance) from any reputed university.
  • Preferred Professional Certification: CA course completed.
  • At least 2/3-year practical experience in the related field.
  • Good command of writing skills both in Bangla and English.
  • Excellent computer operating skills including MS Office packages, accounting software.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and team player.
