Biostatistician

About CHRF
Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a non-profit research organization in Dhaka, Bangladesh, registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau. Founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations like World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), etc.  

We invite applications for the position “Biostatistician” to join our research team.

Job location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Employment term: Fixed-term/Regular

Salary range: BDT 45,000

Key Responsibilities
CHRF is involved in different multi-country projects, generates high volumes of surveillance data and receives clinical and laboratory data from different institutions. Successful candidate has to 

  • Work with project investigators and coordinators to understand the objectives of the project and data collection methods
  • Clean the raw data
  • Check for logical errors
  • Analyze the data
  • Prepare reports  for the team leaders and donor organizations
  • Manage data archiving of the organization  

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • MS in Statistics/Applied Statistics
  • Must have a strong command in written and oral English
  • Must be highly organized and be particularly attentive to details
  • Must have possess problem solving ability, critical thinking and management skill and be able to work independently
  • Must be enthusiastic to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and be willing to take initiatives
  • Skills on Stata/SPSS/R are essential
  • Experience of working in public health research is preferred
