Textile Quality Manager

Job Summary
Responsible for developing, revising and implementing textile quality standards and policies, maintaining high levels of customers / buyer satisfaction and consistently meeting the required European and international quality standards.

Job Description

  • Quality & process Management (Set up, implement, maintain and improve the quality system and methods
  • Monitor analyze and report on quality management. Report gaps and propose corrective actions.
  • Understand all partners requirement, including quality referential, request controls, and authorized third parties’ services providers.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of the team members (quality engineers, inspectors & fitting engineers).
  • Liaise with other support departments (finance, logistics, tracking,) to establish and maintain effective procedures to improve and achieve the targeted service level for all textile product categories.
  • Define the technical audit of suppliers
  • Responsible for employee’s selection, career development, team motivation, succession planning & training.
  • Contact regular meetings with team
  • Regular report the team performance, results and issues to management.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Communicate with Overseas partners to define and clarify quality requirements and control plans
  • Handle customer complaints and problem shooting
  • Monitor partners product requests and quality claims to ensure effective response.
  • Communicate with third party laboratories / inspection companies for TCF/ test/ inspection services at management level and for problem shooting

Job Specification

  • At least 5 years working in a quality department with experience in well-known sourcing companies, international trading or buying office is a plus
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing a team of engineers / inspectors.
  • Knowledge of European and other international safety requirements and norms applicable to the related products.
  • Good command of basic production processes such as spinning, weaving, knitting, and confection.
  • Expertise in dyeing and finishing processes, fabric performance and compliance standards (woven and knit fabrics)
  • Experience in quality controls, inspection, factory audits & products development.
  • Knowledge in sample checking, paper pattern, fitting, etc.
  • CSR Knowledge is complementary, but not a must.
  • Good communication skill with suppliers and merchandise teams.
  • Excellent command of English, both in spoken & written.
  • Confident in making decisions.
  • Good leadership skills, more specifically in influencing all levels of management of driving complex situations and projects to the desired outcome.
  • Capable of working independently on multi tasks, target -driven and self-motivated.
  • High sense of ethics and integrity, honest, dedicated, systematic and initiative.
  • University degree or above in technology, textile engineering or other relevant areas.
