Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 87 on-going projects covering 209 upazila focusing on six main priorities i.e.) Social Welfare and Community Development, ii) Quality Education, iii) Health Care and Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Development and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is looking for suitable candidates (men and women) for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for Acceleration Toward Ending Child Marriage (AECM) Project Funded by UNICEF.

1.

Position: Project Coordinator

 

Age: Maximum 45 years as on 30/11/2017

 

Job Location: Nalitabari & Sribordi Upazila of Sherpur District.

 

Salary : Monthly consolidated salary will be BDT. 37,300/-

  • Masters or equivalent degree preferably in Disaster Science and Management, Social Sciences or relevant field from any recognized university. Academic qualification may be relaxed for highly experienced candidates.
  • Professional qualification or Diploma in the Civil Engineering will be an added value.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in the area of rural water, sanitation and hygiene. 
  • Experience of managing WASH projects will be added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience on the social aspect of WASH, School led total sanitation (SLTS) approach, Menstrual Hygiene Management, School WASH and hygiene promotion through behavior change communication and gender transformative WASH programming.
  • Have excellent knowledge on WASH, Menstrual Hygiene and affect of Child Marriage and principles, policies, guidelines,   standards and practices of WASH sector.

 

  • Ensure quality planning, good governance, accountability, implementation and monitoring of project activities in line with the WASH SDG program and government’s relevant policies, plans and guidelines.
  • Prepare annual plan and budget for project interventions with project staffs and Program Officer-Disaster Management.
  • Ensure implementation of project interventions mainly total sanitation/hygiene promotion related activities through SLTS and behavior change communication.
  • Ensure child, gender, disability and environment friendliness of WASH facilities.
  • Facilitate for mainstreaming of gender equality and social inclusion, and good governance into WASH interventions.
  • Support Program Officer-Disaster Management by providing available data and information (e.g. field visit reports, progress report, financial report etc.) on the project to facilitate monitoring of project interventions.
  • Facilitate Field staff for effective implementation of project interventions to upgrade the status of WASH and its coverage areas.
  • Facilitate and support filed staff, at Field Offices for routine monitoring of project activities at the Upazila, school and community level.
  • Capacity building of field staff at Field Offices on program planning, implementation, and monitoring project intervention.
  • Maintain smooth coordination and networking with relevant government department, organizations and other WASH and Nutrition related stakeholders at Upazila, district and national level.
  • Ensure CB’ systems policies, Standard Operating Procedures, donor policies and applicable local regulations are understood and complied all times.
  • Work closely with Program Officer-Disaster Management to mitigate fraud, conflict of interest and ensure accountability.
  • Visit, assess and support field sites to ensure operational systems are maximized.
  • Oversee facility and assets management; ensuring that security standards are maintained at all premises.

Position: Upazila WinS Facilitator

 

Positions: Two (2)

 

Age: Maximum 35 years as on 30.11.2017.

 

Job Location: Nalitabari & Sribordi Upazila of Sherpur District.

 

Salary : Monthly consolidated salary will be BDT. 21,300/-

  • Graduate in Social Science or relevant discipline. The Master’s Degree holders will get preference. Academic qualification may be relaxed for highly experienced candidates.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with a WASH programme in challenging conditions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience behaviour change approaches in both Humanitarian and development context.
  • Substantial experience in School led total sanitation (SLTS) is essential.
  • Have basic knowledge on WASH, Menstrual Hygiene and affect of Child Marriage and principles, policies, guidelines,   standards and practices of WASH sector.

 

  • The Upazila WinS Facilitator will support efficient delivery of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene promotion activities ensuring WASH in line with project strategy and annual plans.
  • Coordinate WASH interventions with project stakeholders, partners, communities and local authority and ensure timely deliverable of programme activities.
  • Conduct WASH needs assessment for affected population including collection of baseline information.
  • Participate in preparation of work plan and review technical aspects of project activities.
  • Collaborate with the local Govt. departments to ensure construction of water, sanitation and hygiene facilities are in accordance with the SPHERE standards as reflected in the project proposal.
  • Facilitate and ensure that all hygiene components and sanitation issues are understood and implemented among the communities.
  • Facilitate the strengthening of students council and peer groups to ensure sustainability of the water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives.
  • Ensure that the WASH interventions address the special needs of Children, women, elderly and disabled.
  • Assist in the developing of appropriate messages and hygiene promotional materials to promote key aspects of hygiene behaviour in consultation with the stakeholders and project partners.
  • Take lead on and roll out implementation and follow up of School Led Total Sanitation (SLTS) interventions.
  • Monitor implementation of WASH activities in the work plans by involving stake holders and partners and ensure regular reporting as per project agreements with partners and donors.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as required.

Please note that the selected candidates will be placed under the Project on contract basis for ten (10) months from the December, 2017 to September 2018 which may renewable upon availability of funding of the Project.
