I.      Job Summary:

The Reporting, Documentation and Monitoring Officer will be responsible for monitoring outputs and tracking activities for at least one sector or one program of CARE strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for overall M&E and learning needs and will come up with findings based on real data to show performance of the program. The incumbent will play role in promoting of key learnings for the improvement of the project and for wider leaning of the organization.

II.    Responsibilities and Tasks:

Responsibility # 1: Monitoring & Evaluation


  • Collect and record output data to keep project-level database updated with information received from PM on weekly basis.
  • Check quality of data collection at field level with CARE staff, volunteers and partners (output level).
  • Support and train CARE staff, volunteers and partners to use quantitative data collection tools (output level).
  • Contribute to tracking projects and program/sector progress by updating the IPTT (Indicator Progress Tracking Table) and Sector Dashboard each month in preparation for the monthly meeting.
  • Participate to regular monitoring on the technical quality of sectoral interventions to ensure that interventions are implemented in line with (and monitored and evaluated against) CARE’s Humanitarian Accountability Framework, including.
  • The Core Humanitarian Standard.
  • Sphere Standards for WASH, shelter, NFIs and livelihoods.
  • Minimum standards in gender (including the WASH minimum commitments).
  • Provide support to Senior MEAL officer (logistics, data collection, data entry) to conduct various MEAL activities.



  • Responsibility # 2: Reporting and documentation


  • Compile weekly and monthly report about quantitative data on activities / output.
  • Make sure project documentation is maintained and evidence based in good order in Ukiah office. Maintain both hard copies and soft copies.
  • Validate and provide field data on a regular basis for donor and other external reporting.
  • Support sector team for external sectoral reporting.


  • Responsibility # 3: Learning


  • Collect case study and human interest story for learning and communication purposes
  • Document project-level and sector-level learning from field and compile them into monthly learning database shared with Sector Lead and Senior MEAL officer
  • Support arranging lesson learnt workshop.


Responsibility # 4: Accountability


  • Participate to regular consultation with affected communities to proactively share general information about interventions, assess participant satisfaction and collect feedbacks
  • Collect feedback and complaint forms from field and enter into Feedback and Complaint Database (weekly)
  • Ensure proper archiving of feedback and complaint forms (hard copy) from Ukiah

Based in Ukhiya Team Office under Cox’s Bazar Field Office

  • Qualification:
  • 2 to 3 years experiences in M&E framework development, survey, research, impact assessment and knowledge management.
  • Masters in Statistics, with practical focus on M&E, documentation and project report writing.
  • Familiar with various participatory tools and approaches.
  • High computer skills at MS Office, Excel, MS-Access and SPSS.
  • Very good comprehension of qualitative and quantitative aspects of M&E.
  • Knowledge of ‘community-led approach’, pro-poor local governance, and economic and social empowerment of the extreme poor.
  • Good communication skills in Bangla and English.
