Training Coordination in Rohingya Crisis Response programme

Background:
Christian Aid (CA) is an International Development and Humanitarian organization working over 70 years across the world. Christian Aid insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. We provide urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes. CA has presence in South Asia since 1960 supporting local partners on addressing issues of tackling poverty and providing support during disasters.

Since violence broke out in Myanmar’s northern Rakhine state last month, an estimated of 507,000 people have crossed the border into Bangladesh as of October 2, 2017 resulting in an increasingly chaotic, unpredictable condition and humanitarian emergency. The new arrivals brought little with them and are dependent on humanitarian assistance for food and other lifesaving basic needs. The makeshift settlements and refugee camps are expanding significantly and are scrambling for food, clean drinking water, health service, latrines, bathing space and hygiene material.

Purpose of the assignment

Prepare, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and document training activities in the for Rohingya Response Programme of Christian Aid. Assess training needs for employees, consultants, volunteers and communities. Identify internal and external training programs to address gaps. Responsible for  Partner with internal stakeholders regarding training needs. Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs and map out training plans. Prepare training calendars and communicate the same internally. Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods. Track and report on training outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Ensure the support by scheduling of training and coordination
  • Coordinate training and book appropriate resources to ensure the Training team are able to deliver effective learning solutions
  • Develop Feedback report in collaboration with the Project Manager to evaluate the success and value of learning solutions
  • Produce complex reports, presentations to support the manager in development, delivery and evaluation of training
  • Manage the Training calendar
  • Assist with the management of all Learning and Development activities
  • Assess training needs for employees, consultants, volunteers and communities.
  • Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
  • Manage in sourcing training agencies and consultants and follow up payments.
  • Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs.
  • Map out training plans for individual employees.
  • Track and report on training outcomes.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
  • Coordinate off-site training activities for employees.
  • Manage training budget.
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Keep up to date on training design and methodology.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Note: These terms of reference covers the main tasks and conveys the spirit of the sort of tasks that are anticipated proactively from consultant. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organisational needs


Education, Experience and other Requirements

  • Degree in HR/Social sciences or relevant field from a university of repute with at least 5 years related experience in a similar role.
  • Dynamic professional with excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter and has enterprising work style.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Good report writing and administration skills
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels
  • Able to cope with basic living conditions in the field and during field trips and work in a multicultural team under difficult conditions
  • Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty, and physically fit
  • Experience of working with on training budgets using spreadsheet for financial analysis and management.
  • Must have a knowledge of the local area context
  • Fluency in English and Bangla language required.
