Compensation: BDT 13,49,239/- to BDT 15,85,380/- gross per annum + medical reimbursement, provident fund, gratuity and medical insurance.

This role is for ensuring emergency support to the Rohingya as part of Christian Aid’s emergency programme.

About the role

The role is required to provide technical assistance to maintenance and construction of temporary shelters in CA supported camps; making drawings and specifications, tendering and contracting, coordination with stakeholders, and supervising the work of contractors and service providers. Also provide technical support in procurement of materials and maintenance/renovation of CA’s office and accommodation. With supervision and guidance from the Site Manager and ERM s/he will provide technical assistance on CA’s construction and maintenance activities within the camps including but not limited to engineering design and construction support for new site development works; existing site enhancement works and small to medium scale community building projects. The Senior Engineer will ensure that the camps are technically sound and ensure best practices in construction of refugee camps are followed.  Will also ensure that needs of the refuges in the camps are appropriately met. Provide regular update on civil work at site to multi sectoral working group. The Senior Engineer will be based in the field with frequent travel to Cox’s Bazar for coordination and networking.

About you

You should have a degree in civil engineering degree or equivalent from a recognized university/institution with 5 – 7 years of relevant work experience. Must have experience in camp rehabilitation and site development, civil design, direct construction supervision, contract administration, surveying and levelling, quantity surveying; Having experience with International Organizations and/or NGOs & working within Cox’s bazar area will be an added advantage; Having experience in building structural design, computer aided drawing, and common engineering-related software is desirable.
