About BYLC:
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), the country's first leadership institute, exists to build connections among youth from diverse backgrounds, equip them with leadership skills, and enable them to have high impact in public, private, and civil sectors. All of BYLC’s efforts aim to strengthen prosperity, justice, and inclusiveness in societies worldwide. BYLC’s unique approach to youth development includes: (a) uniting students from English medium, Bangla medium, and Madrassas through a rigorous admission process; (b) using experiential teaching methods to build leadership competencies in students; and (c) creating a platform for students to translate their learning into action through service projects.

The prime responsibility of the Executive, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, is to contribute in developing the monitoring and evaluation system and to provide support in improving the impact of BYLC programs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing Research, Monitoring and Evaluation system to assess the progress and impact of different programs
  • Design and create Monitoring and Evaluation database
  • Collect, clean, sort, categorize, and organize data
  • Compile data from different programs and input them to the database
  • Analyze and present quantitative and qualitative data for programmatic improvements
  • Knowledge documentation of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation activities
  • Conduct pre- and post-evaluations of all programs on an ongoing basis
  • Develop monthly, quarterly or annual reports depending on project requirements
  • Suggest and implement strategies in various departments, develop the monitoring and impact indicators; bring efficiency and effectiveness in the programs by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities; and develop plans to minimize internal and external risks
  • Generate new ideas for future program development and provide analytical insight

Desired Candidate profile:

Graduate in economics, environmental science, statistics or any research related field


  • 1-2 years' experience in research related work would be an advantage
  • Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply


  • Qualitative and quantitative research knowledge
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel
  • Commendable data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Outstanding report writing and presentation skills
  • Knowledge on statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS/STATA) would be an advantage
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside Dhaka to conduct surveys, workshops, and focused group discussions as per project requirement
