DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS


Brac University (Bracu) invites applications for an exemplary, innovative leader to engage as the Director of Communications. The Director leads and manages strategy, planning, development and execution of the marketing, advertising, branding, image, public relations and communications functions of the University for external and internal stakeholders. The Director will be responsible for managing inquiries, press relations, crisis communications, and the promotion of the University's achievements in different print, digital and social media and reach out targeted audiences at both national and international level.

The Director will provide leadership around the following:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan to promote Bracu image and mission;
  • Coordinating the implementation of advertising initiatives in print and digital media with the objective of elevating the profile and reputation of the University among prospective students, alumni, donors, and the general public;
  • Serving as the primary contact and spokesperson with local, regional and national media;
  • Managing inquiries, press relations, crisis communications, and the promotion of the University's achievements;
  • Developing and managing media events;
  • Developing marketing materials, including: web, video, social media, commercials, radio programs, brochures, and marketing presentations;
  • Developing strategic partnerships with higher education, business, and media organizations;

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit sector or abroad.
  • Master’s degree in journalism, marketing, and/or public relations preferred.
  • Highest-level writing skills, with the demonstrated ability to write on a wide variety of topics and to adapt style for a range of audiences, using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, editing, formatting, and proofreading. Two to four years of experience writing in a professional environment, preferably in the higher education fields.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills in both Bengali and English.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously.
