Assistant Coordinator, GenEd

The Assistant Coordinator, General Education (GenEd) looks after the day-to-day operations of the General Education Program. The Assistant Coordinator works with the University General Education Committee (UGEC).

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage  all  administrative  tasks,  timelines,  and  record-keeping  associated  with implementing and maintaining the General Education Program
  • Work with General Education Program and stakeholders like curriculum reviewers, academic advisors, Office of the Registrar, General Education governance entities etc. to ensure effective and timely implementation of all aspects of  the General Education Program
  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining of the General Education curriculum and other general education materials
  • Promote the General Education Program to all stakeholders
  • Ensure  that  the general  education  policies  and  procedures  are  properly implemented
  • Manages and is responsible for supervising the  consistent  review,  assessment,  and  reporting of General Education outcomes
  • Assist the Chair, Gen Ed in initiating general education committee/subcommittee meetings and recording minutes and communicate them accordingly
  • Work with the academic leadership (Dean, Chairperson, Director etc.) of different departments/schools/ institutes to ensure results of General Education outcomes assessment are used to support and improve student learning

Requirements

  • Both Bachelor and Master's degree preferably in education and research
  • Candidate  with  work  experience   in  General  Education  (GenEd) will be given preference
  • Strong verbal and written skill in English
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point etc.
  • Proficiency with website development (optional)
  • Experience with electronic portfolios for student learning
