Communications Officer

BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) at BRAC University was established in 2004 as an international educational and research institution focusing on the integral areas of teaching, research, and services. The goal of the School is to not only impart knowledge but also to act as a center of excellence in knowledge creation through research and training that connects with practice.

Purpose:
The Communications Officer will be responsible for communication, advocacy, and marketing related work for BRAC JPGSPH, and will ensure visibility of the School in print and electronic media.          

Key responsibilities:

  • Writing, editing and/or producing presentations, press releases, info-graphics, articles, journals, reports, annual reports, publications etc.;
  • Developing content for the website like blogs, case studies, and e-newsletters;
  • Developing engaging content for our social media on a regular basis;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and media (both print and digital);
  • Collating, analysing and maintain a database of all media coverage;
  • Implementing strategies  for publicity, campaigns and marketing;
  • Experience in event management with the capability of organizing events like seminars, round tables and meetings;
  • Work with various projects and departments across JPGSPH.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mass Communication / Journalism / Media / International Relations / English from a reputed University;
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a related field is preferred;
  • Content developing and editing skills;
  • Excellent writing and typing skills in both English and Bengali;
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Photography will be considered as an added advantage;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Proactive in taking initiatives and being an active team player;
  • Responsible for timely delivery of tasks and maintaining quality;
  • Willingness to work overtime and on weekends if necessary;
  • Willingness to go on site, on field, and attend external programs when required;
  • Shortlisted candidates must show previous writing/editing samples during the interview process.
