BRAC International is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:

Head of Internal Audit

Job Location: Country Office, Kabul, Afghanistan

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the management by providing independent advice on operations and performances and by assessing the effectiveness of internal control and compliance. The function aims to add value, improve operational efficiency, economy and effectiveness of management process, risk management, internal control and compliance system.

  • Prepare and finalize Risk Based Annual Internal Audit Plan for BRAC Afghanistan.
  • Track and monitor the achievement of that Plan.
  • Delegate, allocate and assign resources to carry out the audit work.
  • Advise, supervise and oversee the audit activities carried out by the internal auditors as per the Plan.
  • Ensure that the audit engagements are conducted in accordance with Internal Audit Manual.
  • Initiate special/investigation audit as per the requirement of the senior management.
  • Supervise the annual inventory count at County Office, Area Offices & Branch Offices.
  • Robust communication with Head Office Internal Audit Team.

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters or MBA from any recognized university major in Accounting/Finance with minimum two 1st divisions/classes or equivalent GPA/CGPA. No 3rd division/ class or below CGPA 2.00 is acceptable.
  • CA/ ACCA/ CIA qualified. Preference will be given for the additionally CISA certified candidates.

Required Competencies:

  • Vast knowledge in Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Excellent report writing ability
  • Robust communication skill in English.
  • Should have the ability of analytical and presentation skill.
  • Should have the ability to manage country internal audit team.
  • Ability to work with ERP Environment.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least five years working experience in the relevant field with minimum three years in managerial positions in renowned organizations (INGO experience adds extra value)
