Deputy General Manager, Processing & Distribution (BRAC Seed & Agro Enterprise)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all annual processing activities plan (seed receive, grading, treatment, drying, packing, storing and distribution). Manage supply chain for achievement of sales targets within specified parameters and lead-time
  • Responsible for strategic planning and execution of all supply chain activities including Own Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, and Distribution in the plant
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirement, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variance and initiating corrective actions
  • Sole point of contact for the business for all Supply Chain matters. Make a need basis monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually distribution plan
  • Carry out a comprehensive review of the purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements. Assess performance of the vendors based on various criteria such as percentage of rejections, quality improvement, safety, timely delivery, credit terms etc.
  • Ensure cost effective re-order level of products and packaging materials & maintain inventory. Maintain inventory and stock of store by using Inventory Management Software. To define Lead Time, EOQ (economic order quantity), and minimum stock levels and plan purchases accordingly
  • Prepare annual budget with the manufacturing facilities and monitor expenses including capex and inventory budgets, reconciling variances and developing and implementing cost improvement programs
  • Responsible for S&OP planning including Demand planning, Supply Planning & Distribution. Ensure delivery of products according to DO & distribution plan
  • Perform market survey in order to develop alternative suppliers for price competitiveness
  • Develop and implement integrated manufacturing, logistics and planning solution encompassing manufacturing/distribution network design, S&OP implementation, import/export operations, effective organization capabilities
  • Operational management of warehouse and transportation, supply planning and strategic inventory planning for finished goods, raw material, packing material and implementation of strategy for all business needs
  • Development staff efficiency by coaching, counseling, mentoring, staff meeting, one-on-one meeting and regular interpersonal communication to enhance their work quality
  • Ensure damage control and developing Kaizen activities throughout the department
  • Responsible for driving optimization of total Supply Chain cost, inventory performance through integrated supply chain activities, and 3rd party distribution alliances. Manages continuous improvement of total Supply Chain cost
  • Responsible for all aspects of Inventory planning and management at respective manufacturing sites from receiving to final disposition of products and materials used in manufacturing
  • Handle VAT, tax and AIT related documents and issues, renewal activities of IRC, ERC, trade license etc.
  • Prepare periodical (daily, weekly, monthly & yearly) Supply Chain report (Procurement, inventory, processing, production, distribution etc.) & submit to the Authority
  • Evaluate staff performance as per Performance Management System (PMS).

Educational Requirements:

  • The candidate should have MBA/ Masters in Business/ Agriculture (Seed Technology related degree will be given preference) with minimum CGPA 2.5/ 2nd class or equivalent result in all academic examinations from any recognized university/institutions.

Experience Requirements: Minimum 10 years

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge on Inventory Management, Material Planning, Scheduling, Vendor Development and commercial, Store & Warehouse management, Supplier Performance Monitoring - Various tools, discipline etc., Kaizen, Lean, Seed quality and seed rules, Factory operation management
  • Must have Analytical ability, Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly obtain the necessary credibility with teams, Data Management capabilities, MIS Reporting skills
  • Must be skilled in Procurement, logistics, distribution, central warehouse management, sales accounting, sales tax, license, stock audit, inventory management, import/export, MS Office, Analytics, Vendor Relationship
  • Must have vision and goal setting capacity, team building, counseling, risk taking, decision making & problem solving capacity, adaptability and have sharp perception, Decision Making & Problem Solving; Taking initiatives, strong leadership and strategic capability;
  • He/ She must be proactive, flexible, innovative, business oriented, responsive to the group’s needs
