Manager, Finance & Accounts (BRAC Fisheries Enterprise)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all accounting, financial and MIS reports with proper analysis & interpretation, and report on them to management by maintaining the generally accepted professional standards
  • Manage the preparation of annual budget for business operation in line with the organization’s strategic priorities and overall business goal. Prepare investment proposal on potential new business avenues with detail financial analysis for management’s review and approval
  • Manage a team of accounts officers delineating their responsibilities and ensure their job accomplishment in a timely, efficient and effective manner. Coach, train, and mentor them with the aim of strengthening their capacity and professional development
  • Ensure compliance of annual budget, organizational financial and accounting procedures and other adminstrative rules in business operations and report to management on variances from the established standards
  • Analyze costs, pricing, sales results and the actual performance of the business compared to the pre-set plan and industry standards and recommend appropriate policies and strategies to improve business performance
  • Maintain effective liaison with the organization’s relevant departments like finance and accounts, procurement, internal audit, monitoring etc and external stakeholders as well for smooth operation of the business. Ensure compliance of the appliacble national laws and regualtions, e.g. VAT and Tax rules
  • Perform field visits to ensure the quality of field staff’s works and to verify the accuracy of reported data. Investigate on reported/ suspected fraud/ complaints and report on them to management with appropriate recommendation on corrective/ preventive measures
  • Respond to the inquiries from the relevant stakeholders regarding financial results, audit complaints and the like. Prepare any other reports as and when required by management.

Educational Requirements: The candidate should have MBA/M.Com in Accounting/Finance with minimum CGPA 2.5/ 2nd class or equivalent result in all academic examinations from any reputed university/institutions.

Experience Requirements: Minimum 5 years

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge on Accounting, Financial Planning and Management, Budgeting,VAT and Taxation, and Information Management
  • Must have Analytical ability, Ability to design reporting tools and techniques, Report writing skills, Presentation skills, Problem solving ability, Strong interpersonal skills and managerial capacity.
  • Must have skills of Computer applications including Advanced usage of MS Excel
  • Must have decision making capacity and ability to establish good relationship among team members and other stakeholders
  • Must have good communication skill both in Bengali and English
