Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) is an activist women organization, working since 1986 to establish equality for women from the family to the state level. Since its inception the organization has been trying to create a platform where women and other marginalized groups will raise their voices and claim their entitlements for social, economic and political empowerment.

BNPS has been implementing a three years long project ‘I am One, I am Many: Combating discrimination on the basis of religious identities and beliefs’ started since February 2016 with the support of Oxfam in Bangladesh. The project focuses to mobilize the youth groups, communities, institutions and media persons for combating religious discrimination, promoting inter/intra faith harmony and social inclusion within a framework of equality and diversity. BNPS is seeking a qualified female person for the position of Project Coordinator under the project:

Major Responsibility

• Lead and manage project team, equip and mentor them with necessary knowledge and skills for ensuring effective implementation.
• Oversee project progress and challenges in accordance with monthly and quarterly action plan and take necessary steps to mitigate the challenges.
• Identify the challenges and support them to develop mechanism to resolve the situation.
• Build functional relationship with govt. agencies and other relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure effective and efficient use of projects’ budget in line with the approved plan.
• Ensure donor and NGOAB compliances with assistance of finance and admin.
• Participate in various meeting and workshop organized by donors and other agencies as required.
• Ensure regular and periodic reporting and documentations in quality manners.

Job Nature: Full time

Required Educational Qualification: Masters in Social Science or relevant discipline from a reputed University.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management and implementation in development field.
• Practical working experience on right based approach and gender issues.
• Experienced in event management, networking, advocacy and interpersonal communication.
• Sound knowledge on gender, human rights, women rights, women empowerment, diversity, plural society, democracy and development; and proven commitment to establish gender equality.

Additional Requirements:

• Affirmative language skills both in Bangla and English. 
• Computer skills on MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and internet operations.
• Understanding on budgeting and financial management.

Job Location: Dhaka

Compensation: As per project allocation monthly gross salary will be BDT 43,000-45,000/- plus other admissible benefits like one festival bonus, yearly increment and travel allowances.
