Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) is an activist women organization, working since 1986 to establish equality for women from the family to the state level, since its inception the organization has been trying to create a platform where women and other marginalized groups will raise their voices and claim their entitlements for social, political and economic empowerment.

BNPS is implementing a project named “Collective Initiative to improve Menstrual Health (MH) situation in Bangladesh by engaging NGOs, civil society and private sector” from May 2018 to April 2020 with support from Amplify Change. The project will build the capacities of MH platform member NGOs in addressing MH issues, providing services, campaign and advocacy work, promote MH in existing SRHR, WASH, education and gender programs and movements. The project will also do advocacy with relevant government agencies to incorporate MH issue in national school curriculum and improve supportive policy environment and budgetary allocation.  In this regard, BNPS invites applications for the following position:

Major Job Description / Responsibility

  • Project officer will provide support to MH platform member organizations for planning and implementing of project activities and conduct regular field visit.
  • Engage with relevant govt. authorities, civil society and media professionals in order to promote MHM issues including SRHR and WASH.
  • Maintain liaison and build relationship with the MH platform member organizations to improve the quality of MH program and activities;
  • Oversee and coordinate production of all materials, as well as their distribution and all related logistics
  • Provide input in and contribute to drafting project narrative (quantitive and qualitative) as per donor requirements.
  • Monitor all project activities as per project proposal and donor requirements, and participate in developing and conducting project activities.
  • Contribute to further MHM, SRHR and WASH programme development
  • Support the Project Manager in program and project administration. The Project Officer will report to the Program Manager.
  • Support the MH platform in developing advocacy strategies.
  • Promote and support MHM, SRHR and WASH related awareness and campaigns to reinforce MHM and SRHR services, especially in young people and key populations.

Educational Requirements

Masters in Social Science or relevant discipline from a reputed University

Experience Requirements

Minimum 4-5 years’ experience on project implementation and supervision with multilevel stakeholders. Experience in the field of SRHR/Public Health/MHM/WASH will be given preference.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Capable to carry out planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing project, therefore requires frequent field visit and travel to central office.
  • Having good communication and interpersonal skills and are able to maintain liaison and coordination with government, donor and the networks through teamwork.
  • Having good computer skills on – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and using internet.
  • Having good understanding on budgeting and financial management.
  • Experienced in organizing consultation, workshops, seminar with high level stake holders and knowledge on women empowerment, gender equality and boarder development.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Monthly gross salary BDT 42,000/- to 45,000/- plus other admissible benefits & allowances like one festival bonus based on qualifications and experience as organization policy.
