Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) is in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) accredited with World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) of the United Nations and UN WSIS prize winner 2016 and Champion 2017 & 2019. BNNRC's outreach extends to local, national and international forums for communicating Knowledge for Media. www.bnnrc.net

BNNRC’s approach to media development is both knowledge-driven and context-sensitive, and it takes into account the challenges and opportunities created by the rapidly changing media environment in Bangladesh including community radio development giving voices for the voiceless.

BNNRC is actively working to improve recognition of the community electronic media sector (Community Radio, Community TV, Community Film) & its work in and involvement with the communities. BNNRC represent the community electronic media sector to Government, Industry, Regulatory Bodies, Media, Academia and Development Partners from 2000.

Organizational Setting
We are looking for dynamic, proactive and strategic person to join us as the Project Coordinator for  Advancing Access to Reliable Information (AARI) supported by Internews Network.

The position is located in BNNRC, House: 9/4 Road: 2 Shamoli, Dhaka 1207. BNNRC is housed in 1500 sq. ft. full furnished apartment owned by the organization. It has all the modern office use facilities equipped with information technologies.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, planning, budgeting and implementing project activities; follow – up and monitoring the progress; reporting and documentations within deadline.
  • Ensuring that the project implementation plan is developed timely, effectively and to ensure sustainability of the project interventions beyond project end, Ability to analyse and communicate complex information at a simpler level to a wide audience
  • Maintain liaison, linkage and communication with GO, Media, NGOs, INGOs, UN organisations, universities, research agencies and other relevant stakeholders for the successful implementation of the programme
  • Lead the project implementation process as per proposal and take initiative to measure it’s progress from the standard of amplify change guideline and milestone
  • Build knowledge of organisational level, civil society, communities and volunteers, as well as the private sectors through sharing experiences, lessons learned, best practices and training and education in disaster risk reduction including the use of existing training and education mechanisms and peer learning
  • Participate in national level coalitions/ clusters on Media Development and Communication  & resilience issues, establish partnerships with other NGOs with proven expertise in the sector and identify areas of possible linkages
  • A proven record of effective programme and people management skills with strong competencies in team working and partnership, Collaborate with the BNNRC programme development team to explore new funding
  • Supervise and ensure project lesson learnt documentation and project data-base is updated and ensuring timely completion and reporting of the activities
  • Contribute to the preparation of learning documents, case studies/press release and comparative study documents for knowledge management and publication, Prepare quantitative and qualitative reports capturing the progress against agreed work plans and learning through a field visit.
  • Good written and spoken English is essential and Willingness to travel at short notice,  Conduct case studies and participate in different assessment activities as per plan

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters in Social Science or any other relevant subject from any recognised university with minimum second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations
  • Experience Requirement: Minimum 03 years’ working experience on development and capacity building programmes in national is required.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Sound Knowledge of national and global policies and practices of development and media development.
  • Strong understanding of advocacy, campaigning, communications and how they contribute to achieving programme goals, excellent interpersonal communication, facilitation and context analysis skills
  • Demonstrated skills in design and effective use of training materials, training module development, training delivery and influencing strategy development, Project planning and organizational skills
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Knowledge and experience of ICT for Development will be an added advantage,
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work with disadvantaged populations in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action and understanding and experience of humanitarian standards and accountability initiatives, Initiate and maintain relationships with high level administration and development partners to develop concept notes, Policy Brief, proposals and budgets to enable expansion and scale-up of the programme.

Age Range: Maximum 40 years
Salary Range: 60-65 thousand
