BLAST-YPSA Consortium is going to implement the project named Community Legal Services for Access to Justice” funded by DFID and managed by Maxwell Stamp PLC, CLS for 33 months period up to 31 March 2017 in three upazillas - Sandwip, Fatikchari, Rangunia of Chittagong district and three upazillas - Ramu, Moeshkhali and Kutubdia in Coxs bazaar district.

Job Summary:
There will be 6 Upazilla Managers for this post to be responsible for 6 upazillas. This position will mainly coordinate and supervise the activities of the upazilla level.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • To develop necessary field plan for effective implementation of the field activities in the targeted project location;
  • To supervise and coordinate the activities to be conducted at upazilla level by the ground staff;
  • To participate in the Bazar meeting at union level to disseminate information on CLS related laws and its implementation;
  • To supervise and provide guidance to organize different cultural campaign events like-video shows, street theatre shows, folk songs etc. at the upazilla level;
  • To organize different events for Day Observation, with the support of other staffs of the project at theupazilla level;
  • To ensure proper use of the publications and digital contents at the union level for spreading information;
  • To assist the ground staffs and delegate specific tasks to field level staff for effective implementation of the planned activities;
  • To assist the process of selecting participants for training and other sessions of the project;
  • To undertake necessary action to establish CLS centers with the support of ground level staff;
  • To organise workshops for UP, GO-NGO collaboration meetings, meetings with media and others;
  • To maintain a good working relation with different government and private organizations, networks etc on legal aid at the upazilla level;
  • To compile the information of gap analysis to share with the relevant stakeholders;
  • To provide necessary information and fill in various formats, monthly reports to the programme coordinator.

Educational Requirement:

  • Masters in sociology/social welfare or relevant subjects.
  • Educational qualification is relaxed for experienced candidates.

Experience Requirement:

  • 3 years working experience in organizing and implementing field based program activities & community mobilization.
  • Persons having legal training or human rights will be given preference.

Additional Job Requirement:

  • Good Team player withsocial and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill inBangla and English.
  • Proficient in Computer Operations, MS Office Application including typing preferably in English and Bengali both , E-mail & Internet.
  • Should have valid motor cycle driving license.

Salary & Benefit:

  • Monthly consolidated salary Tk. Tk. 25,000/-.
  • Two festival bonuses equivalent to one month’s basic salary each payable after successful completion of 6 months’ probation
  • Costs in relation to field work, including travel and daily allowances, will be borne by the organisation
