Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM)

Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM), formerly Civil Service College, Dhaka is a University of Dhaka affiliated post-graduate institution established with the objective of creating a centre of excellence for studies and research on public policy and management, and promotion of good governance in Bangladesh.

The institute currently offers Masters in Public Affairs in (i) Governance and Public Policy (GPP), (ii)International Economic Relations (IER) and (iii) Human Resource Management (HRM).
As a nonprofit organization BIGM provides opportunities for higher studies at a subsidized tuition fee for Civil Service Cadres. Executives from the private sector as well as nongovernmental organizations also have the opportunity to pursue higher studies at the institute at nominal fees.

Under a new leadership, BIGM is currently engaged in streamlining, broadening and sharpening focus of its operations. BIGM recently received funds from the Skills Employment Investment Program (SEIP), Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh to provide a three month Policy Analysis training for the mid to senior public and private sector officials.

Coordinator
Bangladesh Institute for Governance Management

Job Context: Reporting to Chief Coordinator (CC)

Duration: One year (renewable on the basis of satisfactory performance)

Scope of the work: Coordinator of the program will closely monitor the training programs for selecting trainees, enrollment and certification.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The major tasks of the Coordinator will include the following;

  • A performance monitoring plan and reporting formats for related activities will be prepared jointly with the Skills Development Coordination and Monitoring Unit (SDCMU) of SEIP project
  • Prepare monitor report highlighting all activities and submit monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports to the SDCMU
  • Participate actively in monitoring meetings organized by SDCMU-SEIP
  • Perform monitoring related other related tasks as may reasonably be required by the Chief Coordinator or requested by the implementing agency
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Chief Coordinator or Director, BIGM. 

Educational Qualification:
Masters in any discipline with 1-2 years working experience in monitoring and evaluation or Bachelor degree with five years’ working experience.

Salary: Negotiable but commensurate to skills and experiences.
