Project Coordinator

BRAC Institute of Global Health (BIGH) is an autonomous institute under BRAC University incorporating James P Grant School of Public Health and Department of Midwifery and Nursing. BIGH is uniquely positioned to interact with the leaders and policy makers in the health sector as well as with the management people and the health seekers. We are inviting applications from
suitable candidates for the position of Project Coordinator for the Midwifery program under the Department of Midwifery and Nursing.

Roles and responsibilities:

She/he will be fully responsible for the effective leadership and management of the ‘Developing midwives’ project at OGSB implemented by BIGH, BRACU. She/he will supervise all activities and deliverables of finance and admin, hostel manager and support staff and coordinate with the authority of the OGSB as well as BIGH. She/he will participate in the project management meeting and play a key role for implementing work plan along with the academic calendar.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible to organize, manage project related advocacy and sensitization meetings, seminars and workshops as per plan and maintain liaison, coordination with all relevant stakeholder for effective implementation of the project along with satisfactory community and clinical placement of student, deployment of graduate midwives:

  • Overall coordinate of activities of the ‘Developing midwives’ project.
  • Coordinate and supervise for compliance of international standard teaching environment including hygiene and cleanliness in quality assured manner
  • Coordinate and supervise all activities and deliverables of finance and admin officer, faculty members, hostel manager along with supporting staff
  • Coordinate, supervise and monitor management of academic site including proper register, recording, maintenance and documentation
  • Ensure and follow up of introducing and maintaining accurate teaching schedule through proper distribution of lesion plan by Faculty members according to academic calendar
  • Communicate with other academic sites regarding their best practices and discuss and decide about implementation of that practice at urban academic site with the approval of the BIGH
  • Ensure the resource mobilization prioritizing the academic plan
  • Regularly meet with faculty, all other staffs, students to understand the performance and progress, problems faced (if any), possible solutions
  • Ensure timely quarterly reporting of performance with challenge faced, lessons learned, strategy to address challenges and future activity plan along with fund requisition towards BIGH
  • Review and approve project related expenses incurred in the academic site
  • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • MBBS/Bachelors in Nursing with MPH/masters in any social science.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in field level implementation of Maternal and Newborn health and reproductive health programs as a coordinator or manager.
  • Ability to effectively manage program implementation.
  • Ability to work under guidance and demonstrated ability in team work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability in implementation.
  • Excellent communication, computer and interpersonal skills
  • Good command in English will be added value

SALARY: Negotiable
