Background: Red Cross-Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No.26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971, is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable populace and over the last 47 years, has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national who have interest to work in an international humanitarian team for the wellbeing of distress people migrated from Myanmar and also host community at Cox’s Bazar.

Job Title : Field Officer
Contract Type : Contractual (One year)

Reportable to : Director, Restoring Family Links (RFL) department, NHQ, Dhaka
Age : 36 Years

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for active tracing, RFL caseloads on behalf of Restoring Family Links Department
  • RFL caseloads management and maintain proper documentation
  • Prepared professional report in English and documented lesson learn like as situational report, event or training report, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, annual report and report as per as needs.
  • Enhance volunteers development for active tracing, other RFL activities and service towards beneficiaries
  • Coordinate with CP and liaison with other humanitarian actors on behalf of RFL Department of BDRCS
  • Need to coordinately work with FA of RFL Department of BDRCS
  • Responsible to maintain RFL admin of Cox’s Bazar Red Crescent Unit office
  • Prepared bill with and send to RFL/Finance Department, NHQ, BDRCS
  • Perform any other work-related to RFL role and responsibilities that may be assigned by line manager

Personal Specification:
Education and experience:

  • Minimum Masters/Bachelor Degree will be preferable from any reputed University
  • Minimum two years of working experience in tracing activities or similar role in reputed organization

Skills and core competencies

  • Fluent in English and local language.
  • Good communication skill with team and stakeholders
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook)

Personal qualities:

  • Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles of Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement
  • Act at all times in accordance with the code of conduct
  • Honest, team player and high level of integrity
  • Assist the organization on occasion, in times of national, international or local emergencies or major disasters
