Area Sales Manager

Job Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh

Key Responsibilities

Market

  • Set individual monthly, quarterly and yearly target for each Territory Officer and Distributor.
  • Identify area opportunities and potential for OPL input.
  • Monitor and analyze business trends and other indicators to develop plans, strategies and activities aligned with company objectives and guideline to achieve business objectives.
  • Achieve & monitor progress of Business Growth.
  • Ensure implementation of regional & channel strategy.
  • Achieve merchandising and display of company products according to Arla guidelines.
  • Lead Territory Officer’s to accomplish their respective roles & responsibilities.
  • Drive coverage expansion in-line with company direction and market requirement.
  • Ensure use of POP materials efficiently according to Arla guidelines and standards.
  • Involved in making the rolling forecast.

Distributor

  • Guide Distributors to ensure right and quality service level in assigned market.
  • Review distributor’s ROI to monitor and facilitate distributor’s business profitability and feasibility.
  • Guide team and distributors to ensure right level of investment in distribution infrastructure and working capital.
  • Ensure efficient and effective support for distributor’s in their market coverage.
  • Ensure the proper and correct execution of sales, discount and trading terms determined by the company.
  • Monitor and minimize the level of market returns.
  • Ensure payments are made by distributors to company as per payment and credit policy of any credit extended to the distributor by company. Also monitor and drive optimum utilization of credit to distributor for business growth.
  • Evaluate distributor’s performance against set KPI’s.

Control, Training and Communication

  • Conduct performance evaluation of Territory Officer within their jurisdiction and review accountabilities.
  • Ensure Territory Officer’s received coaching by on-the-job session and feedback on performance and conduct regular appraisal interview.
  • Facilitate and coach team to ensure regular sales, distribution and other relevant reports are updated on time and correctly.
  • Lead and coach team to develop their capability in-context of managing retailers, distributors, distribution house and sales force.
  • Lead and coach team to develop their capability in-context of analyzing the business, develop territory plans and engaging with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop successor based on potential among the team members.
  • Accurate and timely reports on Market intelligent: competitor’s activity, price changes and promotional support.
  • Lead team to ensure development through on the job training for Sales Force.
  • Schedule the appropriate amount of time to work with each individual within the team.
  • Conduct regular meeting in most impact, successful and cost- effective manner
  • Apply company reporting forms and systems
  • Recommend appropriate actions as required to meet or surpass sales objectives
  • Sign internal and external correspondence, expense, leave application and others
  • Optimize expenditure of secondary sales force
  • Reward recognition and proposed career planning

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum BBA Graduate with any major (MBA is preferred).
  • Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in Sales. Experience as ASM will be preferred.
  • Sound Knowledge on FMCG Market.
  • Should have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
