Title:  IT Manager

Supervised By:
  • Director of Technology Integration and Innovation
Job Objectives:
  • Plan, organize, and manage IT infrastructure to ensure stable and secure operation of AISD. Includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. Also includes managing end-user customer service and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Information System Management/Computer Science/ or related field.
Experience:
  • At least 5 (five) years of supervisory or leadership experience in a technology department in a multi-cultural or multi-national environment

Functional competencies:

  • Expertise in multimedia delivery systems, local area networks and imaging
  • Demonstrated competence in voice, data and video systems
  • Expertise in storage, data center management, device management, Cisco, Apple, Microsoft, security systems, cloud backup
  • Strong proficiency in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting the following: HTTP, SSO, TCP/IP, VPNs, LANs, WLANs, VLANs, SAN, MX records, virtualized servers, routing, switching, firewall, wireless, anti­virus gateway, SNMP traps, load balancing technologies and network monitoring tools
  • Experience in high technology school preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the performance in the following four areas: Network, Data Management, Equipment and Support
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the IT team, providing effective leadership, supervision and a safe working environment for the team
  • Oversee all aspects of IT department operations to ensure the infrastructure is 
suitable for the 21st Century Learning Environment
  • Keep the end user in mind: lead the IT team to troubleshoot specific hardware and software issues to ensure maximum approved user accessibility and operations of the systems
  • Ensure successful deployment of all technology initiatives within budget and on time
  • Manage the setup of servers and systems to support consistent and robust school operations
  • Assist Director of Technology with development of annual IT budget and optimize its utilization to ensure compatibility
  • Ensure that support staff remain current with new ICT developments and best practices; provide in-house training as required
  • Oversee vendor relations
  • Develop, implement and maintain a security plan to ensure data and files are securely stored
  • Manage and ensure that data entered into the school management systems is accurate and maintained and that roles, procedures and responsibilities are clearly documented
  • Manage and supervise online learning platform (G Suite for Education administrator) and the data flow of all learning technologies
  • Assist Communications Office with website development and updates
  • Assist Director of Facilities and Operations in physical infrastructure planning and construction as it relates to technology requirements
  • Assist Director of Facilities and Operations to ensure physical campus security and successful operations of the ID card system
  • Coordinate with other departments in order to understand and meet their technology requirements
