Title: HVAC Technician

Job Objective:  Provide technical support for Electrical and HVAC systems in all school and Residential buildings.       
Education: Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. BA /BS preferred.
Experience: Three years of experience in a similar position
Knowledge & Skills: Fluency in English. Advance training in all types of central HVAC Systems Required.
Supervised By: Technical Services Manager

Major Areas of Responsibility:

I. Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance of all HVAC and electrical equipment Including FCU’s, AHU’s central chiller plants, ERU, HRU and all ancillary equipment such as thermostats, controls, valves and pumps.
  • Be responsible for regular maintenance of all HVAC equipment including preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Serve on call for school related or other social events and ensure uninterrupted supply of AC and electricity.
  • Attend to work orders related to electronic equipment and appliances.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • May perform other duties as required and assigned by the Technical Services Manager

II. Record keeping

  • Maintain daily logs of meter and monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain PM schedules and related documents.
  • Maintain library of all documents related to building systems including M&O Manuals, spare parts Manuals, and equipment operations manuals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and working loads of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move furniture up and down several flights of stairs.
  • Ability to work off a ladder or elevated platform.
