Title: HR Assistant

Job Objective: 

To assist in implementation of school’s HR functions and activities on a day to day basis for continuous support and development of AISD professional and administrative staff         

Education: Bachelors in any discipline.
Experience: At least 3 years in a similar position
Knowledge & Skills: Good Interpersonal Communication Skills. Fluency in English and Bengali.
Employment Arrangement: Classified Support Staff
Taka Scale – 12 – month – Letter of Appointment (Overtime Provision - None)
Supervised By: HR Director

Major Areas of Responsibility:

I. Arrangement of Substitutes

  • Arrange substitute teachers, Teaching Assistants, Office Managers and nurse as and when required.
  • Maintain attendance/signing sheet of substitutes.
  • Prepare and provide monthly payroll information to Business Office. 
  • Update the Substitute list on a regular basis.

II. Leave

  • Send out Staff Absentee Forms to members who were absent, maintain and update records on a weekly basis.
  • Update the Staff Leave Record (for the whole year).

III. Insurance

  • Prepare staff lists for local and foreign insurance providers.
  • Collect and send claims to local insurance provider.
  • Act as the single point of contact for school members and local insurance provider; send out hospitalization notifications, member inclusion /exclusion list, complain about claim settlement etc.

IV. Correspondence

  • Provide the Embassy with Staff List, Arrival notifications, etc.
  • Preparing the diplomatic note, and secure passports for visa renewal as required for all U.S. Based Staff (Overseas Hires & their families)
  • Update Evacuation list.

V. Administrative Functions

  • Update  & file job applications. Review resumes for initial short-listing.
  • Set up interview schedules as required.
  • Update staff information in power school. Maintain all staff database.
  • Maintain/update personnel data such as staff list, birthday list, medical record, training records.
  • Assist with duties such as photocopying/filing/collating of documents.
  • Assist in the year-round events: Annual Picnic, Local Staff Family Day, AISD hosted lunch/dinner parties and New Staff Orientation.
  • Perform routine office tasks necessary for the operation and presentation of a professional office.
  • Carry out instructions given by the Admin team and HR Director.
