The Aga Khan School, Dhaka

The Aga Khan Education Service (AKES) is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating in 200 countries. Over 2 million students benefit from AKDN education programmes from early childhood development to secondary schools, and from vocational studies to university degrees. In Bangladesh, the Aga Khan Education Service, Bangladesh (AKES,B) is responsible for the operation of the Aga Khan School, Dhaka which is well recognised as one of the best schools in the country offering international quality education to students. The School has currently four campuses located close to each other in Sector 4, Uttara Residential Area, Dhaka. An ambitious plan to expand and consolidate the facilities in a large purpose built campus is in progress.

The Facilities and Logistics Manager (FLM) will ensure proper maintenance of all AKES,B facilities and manage all repairs and construction projects for AKES,B and create a preventive maintenance culture at all the facilities of AKES,B. The FLM will also be responsible for providing all logistical support using both in-house as well as external resources if required. Besides the above, the FSM will be responsible for security functions, management of the canteen service, supervise support services, Fleet Management” of all buses and vehicles including drivers’ scheduling and comprehensive maintenance of the generators and substations at each AKS,D facility.

The successful candidate may either have a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from a state owned university (BUET/CUET/KUET) and minimum five years of experience in Facilities Management of a large complex commercial establishment; or, a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a renowned technical institute with minimum 12 years experience in Facilities Management of a large complex commercial establishment.

Other requirements include excellent interpersonal skills to deal with diverse groups of people; strong communication skills in both written and spoken English; proficiency in MS Office.

Ex Defense Officers with an appropriate personality to deal competently with senior regulatory and law enforcing agencies’ officials would be given preference.
