SUMMARY:
The Logistic Officer must ensure that all aspects of a logistics team, such as procurement, warehousing and maintenance are working together to fill orders and deliver materials on a timely basis. He will review all processes and systems and design and implement new plans and procedures as needed. He has to develops clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required; allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Advance University Degree in Economics/Engineering/Management/Marketing/ BBA/ English / URP or other related fields
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in logistics operations in commercial or international organizations/INGO/NGO is required.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in office management, administration and logistics preferably with UN agencies and/or INGOs.
- Experience in administrative-related areas such as procurement, finance, budget, and human resources, medical, engineering, communications and information technology, is desirable.
- Previous experience in supporting humanitarian crisis is highly desirable

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Coordinates and monitors overall RISSM Project logistics and support plans and operations including logistics, communications, information technology & procurement.
- Assesses and organizes logistics in terms of transport requirements, receipt, handling, storage and distribution of relief items and establishes proper warehousing and recording systems including assets.
- Establishes a detailed procurement programme plan to determine appropriate specifications of required items, according to established guidelines and procedures and in coordination with Supply Management Service (SMS).
- Carries out regular trips to ensure that relief material forwarded to projects has been received and properly accounted for at their destinations, and in case of loss or damage follow up with clearing agents and transportation companies in liaison with SMS.
- Devises methods of stock control, closely monitors warehousing management, and regularly submits situation reports on stocks, equipment and prepositioned goods.
- Develop logistics along with support plans, budget requirements and deployment timelines for new operations
- Develop logistical plans for current operations and logistics contingency plans.
- Design and develop standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.
- Coordinate and present logistics support to ongoing land, air, rail and river operations.
- Ensure logistics requirements take gender-specific needs into consideration.
- Develop reports on material and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems.
- Guide and oversee performance of new and junior logistics assistant.
- Performs other related duties as required
Salary will be according to specific budgetary allocation.
