Site Planner (Male) (02)
Major Responsibilities
  • Producing quality layouts and drawings of shelter facilities based on UNHCR plan.
  • Ensure that basic technical criteria of land availability/property, accessibility, security, topography, water resources, absorption capacity, and adequate terrain for proper sanitation facilities are taken into consideration while selecting potential refugee sites
  • Develop, in close coordination with implementing partners and other concerned parties, site plans and their implementation modalities, including construction of communal infrastructures, taking into account overall needs of target groups, their cultural preferences and the concerns of the local communities.
  • Demonstrating a general understanding of the product line and an ability to identify site-specific installation and service issues
  • Supporting the field by analyzing on-site issues regarding installations and equipment functionality, and resolving said issues through additional drawing support and other deliverables
  • Supporting other team members in completing objectives
  • Supporting the team through tasks aimed at improving general job knowledge and technical skills
  • Identifying potential improvements to tools and deliverables that have a positive effect on planning efficiency and quality
  • Developing, evaluating and implementing technical solutions or processes designed to maximize operational efficiency and productivity
  • Effectively communicating with modality team through team updates and feedback in efforts to sustain project transparency
  • Deliver consolidated reports on construction related activities in already established and new sites
  • Advise on matters of procurement of sector-related materials or equipment. This includes aiding in the development of bid documents with inputs on, among other things, technical issues and quantity
  • Other duties advised by supervisor/authority
Education/Experience/Qualities
  • BA or Diploma degree, preferably related to Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent
  • Professional technical experience matching the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities
  • Relevant educational background and knowledge of the UN
  • A minimum of 3 years international humanitarian field experience
  • Relevant experience with international NGO is a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of the complexity related to refugee and emergence situations.
  • General knowledge of design requirements for shelter facilities
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, adaptable to internal and external customers
  • Close work with Shelter Specialist
  • Able to drive Motorcycle with valid license is a plus.
