Inspirator - Global Platform (GP) Project

Monthly Allowance : BDT. 44226 whereas Per Diems Monthly: BDT. 19201 and Accommodation: BDT. 25025. Moreover, Group Life Insurance will be covered.

Job Summary

The Inspirator will be mainly based in the Global Platform Bangladesh office in the capital city of Dhaka and may need to visit the project locations sometimes in the rural settings outside Dhaka.

The Inspirator is expected to develop capacity of the supporting partners, Activista, volunteers to develop monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) mechanism (including outcome harvesting). S/he will be working closely to implement the 3 strategic objectives of A4I project i.e. 1. Advancement of Full, Productive and Decent Work for Young Women and Men, 2. Increased access to quality youth and gender responsive public services, 3. Increased youth participation and expanded democratic space at all levels of decision making. S/he will support to develop capacity of GPB team members on outcome harvesting, learning mechanism and tools.

The Inspirator will be engaged to develop capacity of the partner and GPB on how to disseminate learning across the level through developing various online and offline knowledge product.

Key Responsibilities Include (not limited to)

Work with Global Platforms

  • Support the drafting of guidelines for the development/contextualization the specific MEL system including Outcome Harvesting by consulting with the GP team members.
  • Support rollout MEL system to the GPB staff partners, Activista and GPB, aligned with the project monitoring system.
  • Provide support to partners, Activista and GPB to implement the system.
  • Provide support to quarterly review and reflection meetings based on the results obtained via the new MEL system.
  • Identify and address challenges while implementing the system.
  • Build the capacity of GPB team members to collect change stories, prepare and edit contents.
  • Templates are developed in consultation with GPB staff on collecting contextual change stories and how to develop contents for digital media.
  • Support to GPB team members how to capture results coming out from newly introduced MEL system and how to develop knowledge products.
  • Support GPB team members on how to develop high quality audio-visual clips.

Work with Activista, Youth Volunteers etc.

  • Taking capacity development initiative with the Activista members.
  • Support to the Activista member facilitate campaign according to the SDG
  • Support Activista on how to profile activities in the in the country and beyond (e.g. AA’s Youth Community of Interest).
  • Jointly develop training guidelines/modalities with GPB staff.
  • Provide support to volunteers in capturing change stories.
  • Actively participate in all quarterly GP volunteer meetings.
  • With assistance of GP staff, develop objectives, goals and strategies for all core volunteers.
  • Explore pathways to inspire active volunteers and participate in volunteer incentive programme.
  • Identify and address challenges while practicing guidelines.
  • Working with the Activista member how to develop audio-visual materials by using smart phone, tab etc.
  • Working with the Activista member how to facilitate online campaign

Work with the Partner organizations

  • Working with the partner organization to practice MEL framework meant for capacity development initiatives.
  • Taking feedback from the partners and contextualize the MEL templates.
  • Support partner staff how to collect change stories and develop knowledge product.
  • Support partner staff for profiling their work by using online media.

Individual competence development and participation in learning networks

  • Participate in Advisor-Inspirator networks nationally and internationally.
  • Participate in relevant learning networks and events with Inspirators working on similar themes across the Federation.
  • Learning and exploring new ICT-based communication and feedback tools.

Relationships

Inspirator will report to Project Manager of Global Platform (GP) Project of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, greater programme team including project teams under PPC Directorate and organization’s priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both programme and operational.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Graduate from any discipline
  • Preferable - Knowledge on democratic culture, social cohesion, pluralism
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience preferably around youth work, particularly in the areas of volunteer management, knowledge management and communication.
