Project Summary
Over 1 million of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Citizen (with the majority comprising women and children), took shelter in camps in Cox’s Bazar in southern Bangladesh on August 2017. The Government of Bangladesh, together with national and international partners, have pro‐actively responding to this crisis with a massive humanitarian response, allocating 2,000 acres of land and coordinating and providing critical assistance such as food, nutrition, shelter, water, health & hygiene, and psycho‐social and basic education services to the camps, settlements and host communities.

ActionAid is implementing site management activities in Camp 11 and 12 funded by IOM. Besides, ActionAid have few ongoing programmes in different sectors e.g. Protection, WASH, NFI etc. inside the camps. As a response agency since September 2017, ActionAid has developed relationships with a range of camp actors, including the Rohingya and their representatives and successfully doing the site management role. ActionAid is working with IOM to address critical humanitarian gaps and need through site management by coordination & collaboration with different stakeholders. Information management, linking community with different service providers, camp operations, and DRR and site improvement are the major activities of site management project.

Key Responsibilities include (not limited to)

  • Planning, Designing, Coordinating and Supervising the Site improvement and Disaster Management;
  • Responsible for preparation of BoQ as per the design of the specific infrastructures;
  • Guides and if necessary proposes adjustment or improvements to guarantee a high standard;
  • Ensure that the purpose of the activities meets the requirement and reach to required results;
  • Identify CFW Scheme [i.e.: Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) activities, Drainage Development etc.]
  • Designing and planning, Implementation, Monitor and Impact assessment of CFW work;
  • Prepare necessary estimate and drawing, design and BoQ of CFW (Cash For Work) schemes;
  • Carrying out the necessary procuring activities regarding construction work by line manager;
  • Support logistics department for collect/ analyze market rate for ensuring value for money;
  • Monitor the implemented activities at the community level by onsite regular visits;
  • Assist in conducting assessment survey to control progress of program and efficiency of activities;
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawing, Planning, Construction, Repair, Renovation, BoQ and Maintenance.


  • S/he will directly report to Team Leader – Site Improvement.

Required Educational Qualification and Experiences


  • B.Sc in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.


  • At least 2 years’ working experience for B.Sc in Civil Engineering or at least 5 years’ experience
    for Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in CCCM/Site Management is highly desired, specially in Cash for work (CFW).

Required Competencies

  • Good communication skills and have experience in working with community people.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD.
  • Ability to speak the local Chittagong dialect is a plus.
