Project Summary

Over 1 million of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Citizen (with the majority comprising women and children), took shelter in camps in Cox’s Bazar in southern Bangladesh on August 2017. The Government of Bangladesh, together with national and international partners, have pro‐actively responding to this crisis with a massive humanitarian response, allocating 2,000 acres of land and coordinating and providing critical assistance such as food, nutrition, shelter, water, health & hygiene, and psycho‐social and basic education services to the camps, settlements and host communities.

ActionAid is implementing site management activities in Camp 11 and 12 funded by IOM. Besides, ActionAid have few ongoing programmes in different sectors e.g. Protection, WASH, NFI etc. inside the camps. As a response agency since September 2017, ActionAid has developed relationships with a range of camp actors, including the Rohingya and their representatives and successfully doing the site management role. ActionAid is working with IOM to address critical humanitarian gaps and need through site management by coordination & collaboration with different stakeholders. Information management, linking community with different service providers, camp operations, and DRR and site improvement are the major activities of site management project.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)

  • Monitoring of different community group formation and facilitation as per guideline;
  • Supervise and monitor each stage of activity. Ensure that standards and instructions with Regular nursing and facilitation of group meeting;
  • Monitor and assess Community Committee Meeting, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and participatory methods to identify new, and existing, protection, WASH, GVB, Youth, Hazard related concerns;
  • Organize training for the groups on different issues and supervise the Community Engagement Officers.
  • Ensure coordination among different community groups, Majhis, service providers and CIC;
  • Running Information Centre and functioning CFM including response as required;
  • Establish and maintain good relations with local participants and communities (populations) in the operational fields;
  • Analysis of complains & feedbacks, prepare periodic report and share with Site Management and Site Coordination team;
  • Put-forward agendas for CIC coordination meeting based on the information from CFM and community meeting and consultation;
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of material delivered to working sites;
  • Ensure that all relevant qualitative and quantitative data are compiling accurately;
  • Prepare project report as per Site Management Subsector and donor.


  • S/he will report to Team Leader- Community Engagement.

Required Educational Qualification and Experiences


  • Preferably a Graduate degree in relevant subject areas such as Social Sciences, Disaster Management, Development Studies.


  • Proven working experience in field-based activities for at least 01 year.
  • Work experience in humanitarian response will be given preference.

Required Competencies

  • Good communication skills and have experience in working with community people.
  • Experience conducting Community Meeting, Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews.
  • Proficiency in English is obligatory, ability to speak the local Chittagong dialect is a plus.
