ACTION AGAINST HUNGER/ACTION CONTRE LA FAIM (ACF) is a non-Governmental, non-political, neutral and non-profit international organisation (I.N.G.O.) that was established in France in 1979 to deliver aid in countries throughout the world. Since 2007, ACF has been assisting vulnerable populations in Bangladesh in the nutrition, mental health, food security, and water and sanitation fields. ACF is looking for qualified candidate for the positions of:

Deputy Nutrition and Health Coordinator
Nutrition Department

Job Location : Cox's Bazar
Number of position : 1
Duration of the contract : 12 Months
Starting date : ASAP
Reporting to : Nutrition and Health Coordinator

Goal:
To contribute to the establishment and monitoring of nutrition and health programmers in partnership with governmental and non-governmental agencies

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deputy Nutrition and Health Coordinator is responsible for:

Objective 1: Facilitate work  coordination with the partner agencies

  • Maintain on-going high quality relationships with the partner and its representatives;
  • Represent Action Against Hunger’s strategy for external partners;
  • Coordinate work with international and local partners;
  • Facilitate of weekly Health and Nutrition Managers meeting in Cox’s Bazar District;
  • Coordination with other Action Against Hunger sectors to ensure smooth implementation of activities including integrated activities.

Objective  2: Contribute to the Development, implementation and management of Health and Nutrition Interventions in Cox’s Bazar

  • Provide inputs in development of health and nutrition strategy in Cox’s Bazar;
  • Execute Action Against Hunger health and nutrition strategy in collaboration with the nutrition expert;
  • Support to Health and Nutrition Managers to develop project proposals; narrative, LFA, targets, budget, HR and PPP;
  • Support Health and Nutrition Managers in monthly Activity Progress reports;
  • Support Health and Nutrition Managers in donor reporting;
  • Ensure quality of health and nutrition activities in collaboration with Nut. Expert;
  • Ensure that health and nutrition interventions are implemented according to GoB guidelines, Action Against Hunger guidelines and procedures

Objective  3: Team Management

  • Management of team (leadership, coordination, monitoring, motivation etc.);
  • Determine HR needs for the implementation of health and nutrition activities;
  • Follow up on recruitment status and support health and nutrition managers in recruitment;
  • Identify capacity-building needs of health and nutrition team and develop capacity-building plan in collaboration with Nutrition Expert and capacity building unit.

Objective 4: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity

  • Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary;
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries;
  • Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities;
  • Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees;
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.

DEGREE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Educational / Professional Background: 

  • Master degree or MBA in education in Nutrition, Pubic Health, epidemiology or related discipline;
  • Extensive knowledge of the humanitarian context of Bangladesh;
  • Excellent knowledge of project cycle and management.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in nutrition program;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian work;
  • Experience to work in emergency and development;
  • Experience in capacity building and mentoring of national and local implementing partners;
  • Proven work experience in CMAM Program;
  • Familiarity with donors and donor procedures.

Required Competence & Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and facilitation skills; ability to delegate responsibilities;
  • Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills;
  • Good management and representation competencies;
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English;
  • Computer literate with experience of Office (Word, especially Excel and Power Point) and other programs;
  • Ability to be a good team player, ability to multitask, ability to handle pressure well, ability to improvise and adaptability to transitions;
  • High flexibility, mobility and willingness to travel extensively.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE: 

  • Monthly Gross Salary Range :  BDT 1,31,000/-

OTHER BENEFITS:
Festival Bonus: 1 month Gross salary every year.
Provident Fund – 7.5% of Basic Salary.
Performance Bonus – from 30 % to 80% of monthly Gross salary per year vary from performants;
End of Contract Benefits - up to 2 months’ Gross salary.
Medical coverage: 80% hospitalization coverage medical expenses (max limit BDT 120,000 per year).

Leaves:

  • 18 days of paid annual leaves per year.
  • 10 days of paid casual leaves per year.
  • 14 days of paid sick leaves per year.

Training:

  • Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge ©.
  • Technical trainings at HQ or regional level (during first year of contract). – This for HoD and senior Managers.
  • Intermission Workshop at France once a year. This for HoD only
