Grants Associate

ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Grants Associate to be based in Dhaka Office, for the USAID-funded Feed the Future Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops Activity (RDC). The activity will be a five-year primary mechanism to support productivity and market systems development under USAID/Bangladesh’s FTF strategy, with the objective of improved food security through systemic changes that increase rural incomes and via increased incomes, including women’s income, and incentivized crop diversification to improved nutrition. USAID/Bangladesh’s new RDC activity will foster growth and reduce poverty through improving the competitiveness, inclusiveness, and resilience of rice and other selected crops in the FTF Zone of Influence (ZOI) to the benefit of large numbers of men and women and their families in rural households, farms, and market systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting and Fund disbursement - Assist in accurate and timely submission of grant financial report, supporting documents and deliverables to meet the deadline.
  • Reviews all financial information provided by grantee for accuracy, completeness, verifiability and Budget allocation.
  • Reviews financial report, deliverables, payment invoices, grantee related procurements and other grants documents; and ensure timely grants fund disbursement
  • Provide technical assistance in relation to grants and feedback to grantee as necessary.
  • Coordinate with program team and grantee to collect missing documents
  • Monitors grant activities and visit as assigned by grants manager to ensure quality and efficient performance of grantee.
  • Make necessary grants data entry in the SAMS software
  • Provide hands on support to grantee to make registration on DUNS/CAGE and SAM registration
  • Coordinates the procurement of grants-related goods and services.
  • Prepares and compiles close out documents for all completed grants.
  • Support grants manager in follow up, to ensure proper close out of completed grants.
  • Identify risk in grants management and inform Grants Manager in a timely manner.
  • Support Grants manager with grants documents during audits or to resolve audit findings.
  • Organize and preserve grants file to ensure grant documentation are up to date.
  • Ensure SharePoint is updated simultaneously as hard copy documents. i.e. scan all necessary documents to SharePoint filing system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or economics or others related field. CA, CC preferred.
  • Minimum two years of working experience in provision of grants in development sector. Experience with USAID funded grants program would be preferred. 
  • knowledge of relevant USAID rules and regulations for contracts and grants is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with deadline pressures.
  • Awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of cross-cultural issues particularly in representing a US-based agency.
  • Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft databases, spreadsheet, word processing, and position-specific software. Advanced knowledge and experience with accounting software.
  • Willingness to travel 60% of the time. Ability to travel independently.
  • Fluency in Bangla and English, both verbal and written
