Senior Sales & Marketing Engineer, Electrification Products

ABB provides a full range of low voltage solutions to connect, protect, control and measure a wide range of electrical installations, enclosures, switchboards, electronics and electromechanical devices.

ABB Dhaka currently has an opportunity for a Senior Sales and Marketing Engineer to join the electrification products business. If you have the passion for sales and working with customers, coupled with sales experience in the power industry, this is the role for you!

Tasks

  • Responsible for building knowledge to have an in-depth understanding of the business area environment, regarding the customers’ and the competitors’, to be able to estimate the coming trends and market movements, and to provide input to ABB network.
  • Maintains and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in their area of responsibility.
  • Requires to build long-term sustainable customer relationships, without losing any short term business.
  • Accountable for the development, implementation and completion of customer accounts plan to obtain acceptable growth in incoming orders and ensure continued growth and profitability of the assigned segment.
  • Promotes and sells all Low Voltage products. Make achievement of all assigned targets. These targets involve sales plans, forecast, pipelines, call visits, project specifications, key accounts plans and maintenance of customer goodwill.
  • Maximize sales volume and drive selling price in the positive trend. Ensure product acceptance, sales and specs-ins; work with existing channel members to gain sustainable growth, coverage and operational excellence.
  • Requires to provide regular reports of the sales, including sales activity, figures, lead management and opportunity tracking, to optimize sales results and to give information to the sales organization.
  • Supports the Manager in translating global strategies into local strategic actions and in identifying local input to global strategies.
  • Contributes to strategy definition and execution through the analysis and identification of new markets, segments, and/or solutions.
  • Works with the Managers on identification and prioritization of new business opportunities in line with global strategic priorities, based on good understanding of local situation and global business strategies. Supports realization of prioritized opportunities.
  • Collaborates with all related internal contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of the respective local business strategy.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent subject.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in marketing, sales or channel management role preferred, in similar industry or several years’ proven experience in other Marketing or Sales roles may be considered.
  • Strong fundamental market and customer network to execute business activities and achieve sustainable growth result.
  • Effective spoken and written communication in English, fluency in additional languages will be an advantage.
  • Possess good initiative, work well in a team and communicate well at all levels.
  • Able to work in a multinational environment and in a matrix organization.
  • Computer application knowledge on MS office and other common application software.
  • Excellent business acumen with an entrepreneurial spirit and has well-developed negotiation skills.
  • Own valid passport to facilitate overseas traveling for training
