Senior Merchandiser: Principle Accountabilities of the Incumbent are mentioned below:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Vendor Performance
  • Provide reports and data for Supplier Scorecard
  • Daily management of Product development area & team if have direct reports
  • Cost Negotiations / Standard & Open Costing way of working & process
  • Product Development samples accuracy & interpretation
  • Managing sampling efficiency & Costs
  • Action new vendor on-boarding & training
  • Conduct high visibility and complex competitive negotiation processes
  • Build effective relationships with TSSO Buying office functions
  • Ensures own way of working and values are supportive of Quality, ESC and Supply Chain Team
  • Supports all continuous improvement process initiatives
  • Lead & help to counter source fabric & trim for cost saving
  • Download Design Sheets/Tech Packs/Artwork/ etc. and check the details
  • Obtain agreement with Vendors on development timelines for sampling & ensure on time samples
  • Work on sample allocation and costings by vendors with Manager
  • Hand-off all development package to vendors & help vendors to arrange trims per BOM if needed
  • Ensure all the development / range review sample are done as requested and meets all the requirement
  • Suggest options to meet price target while maintaining Design’s aesthetic points
  • Esclate any potential quality issues for bulk production
  • Answer vendor questions on styling for correct sampling
  • Ensure Vendors work correctly and effectively through GBSS for the development stage
  • Ensure Buyers Booking details are correct and received before booking styles with Vendors
  • Handovers to Production team are correct and effective / on time
  • Prepare merchandising related reports when required
  • Live the Target values and culture within the team and across the organisation
  • Identify and report safety concerns, demonstrate safe working behaviour and lead by example to establish a safe workplace

Job Requirements:

  • At least 6-8 years’ experience in a similar role or as a Merchandiser
  • University graduate in any discipline
  • Experience of working in an overseas buying or sourcing office
  • Experience of merchandise sourcing, development and / or production
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain
  • Knowledge of product and technical specifications, vendors and costs
  • Commercial knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written English and local language
  • Strong IT skills especially in the use of MS-Office applications
