Specific management responsibilities included designing job descriptions, hiring personnel, and implementing a team portfolio management structure. Stock selection and sector decisions improved while simultaneously lowering tracking error and portfolio turnover by introducing various quantitative and fundamental tools and refining the investment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The prime responsibility is to manage team of investment professionals effectively.
  • It is needed to oversee the work for fund management, securities and bonds management.
  • The main responsibility is to nurture and maintain excellent working relationships with securities brokers and investment managers.
  • The duty also includes providing the proper and regular reports to the finance committee or executives or the senior authorities.
  • He or she needs to study the reports on the status of earning of securities, commodities investments and other investment instruments.
  • Develop and implement strategic programs to achieve significant increase in Stock Exchange transaction for purchase and sale of shares in the portfolio of the clients.
  • Maintain constant liaison with the BSEC, Stock Exchanges, merchant banks and other related bodies as well as with the management regarding policy matters, operation etc.
  • Should be well conversant with rules and regulations of Bangladesh Bank, BSEC, CDBL, RJSC, DSE, CSE and submission of returns to those regulatory authorities.
  • Supervise and monitor the procedure of opening investors on investment in primary and secondary market.
  • Formulate financial plans, programs & strategies for the company.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • The person needs to have an MBM, MBA or Master’s degree in the management sciences (professional qualification as ICSA/CA/ACCA/ICMA will be given preference).
  • Sound knowledge on Capital Market Services both at home & abroad, Bond Markets, Issue Management/Underwriting, rules & regulations of BSEC, DSE, CSE, CDBL & other regulatory bodies.
  • Good inter-personal skills and strong communication competences both oral and written in Bengali & English.
  • The person must have extensive network of money market traders, banks and investment houses.
  • He or she should have the excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills to do the job.
  • The candidate should have required past working experience of at least 12 to 15 years in the financial department of a large company or bank with the last 5/7 years in a management or executive role.
