Position Overview:
Under the direct guidance of MH Program Advisor, the Manager, Maternal Health, District Support will provide technical support to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all MH activities.
Job Responsibilities:
The position will provide technical support to build capacity of health facilities at district levels and below to improve quality of MH services
- Support the MNCSP Maternal Health Program Director and MH Advisor, in rolling out priority interventions and approaches to scale up and improve the quality of maternal health services, contributing to:
- Improved responsiveness of district health systems to deliver patient-centered MNC services
- Improved quality of MNC services and governance of quality of Care
- Sustained improvement for MNC services and household Practices
- Support capacity building of local staff and counterparts to assist district, Upazilla, and Union level facilities to improve quality of maternal health services.
- Ensure evidence-based technical approaches are effectively implemented, using tools and materials, to strengthen facilities at district, upazila and union level.
- Support the introduction, evaluation, and scale up of for Maternal health innovations
- Assist health facilities and MaMoni district staff to use data to track progress, identify gaps, and inform actions to address those gaps.
- Facilitate/guide development of strategies to achieve and sustain quality Maternal health services.
- Support MH Program Director to prepare and compile comprehensive progress reports (quarterly and annually) including project input and results.
- Support MH Program Director and MH Advisor as and when assigned for any other activities.
- Travel to the districts to support the aforementioned responsibilities. S/he is expected to travel 50% to support district activities.
Employment Status: Full-time
Educational Requirements: Medical Graduate (MBBS) with MPH or equivalent.
Experience Requirements: At least 6 year(s)
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in working with government counterparts to strengthen health service delivery; 3-5 years of experience in maternal or reproductive health preferred.
- Good understanding of evidence-based best practices in maternal health.
- A high level of proficiency in at least 1-2 technical areas related to Maternal Health is highly required.
- Track record in capacity building
- Willingness and ability to work within government system and clinical settings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective facilitation and presentation skills.
