Overview

The Family Planning (FP) Coordinator will work under the direct guidance of Program Director and provide technical and programmatic support to the implementation team and government counterparts. S/he will coordinate with program team to improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes through increased access to quality Postpartum Family Planning (PPFP) services and strengthened capacity of providers and facilities in target areas.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Assist Program Director in the coordination and facilitation with the DGNM, DGHS, and DGFP and other stakeholders at the national and division levels in order to achieve project objectives
  • Coordinate with relevant training institutions in the development of PPFP trainers in Dhaka, Sylhet and Chittagong Divisions
  • Provide support to implement innovative model/approach for PPFP in private sector setting
  • Assist in coordinating PPFP counseling orientations for community healthcare workers, immunization providers and their supervisors
  • Assist in the deployment of a community tracking system for women, babies, community health workers and facility providers
  • Provide support and coordination for Human Centered Design meetings, development of study protocols, tools, study design, and data collection
  • Coordinate study dissemination events and communications
  • Participate in TWGs and take meeting minutes as requested by the Program Director
  • Represent Jhpiego programs in meetings and conferences as requested by the Program Director
  • Assist in the dissemination of FP training materials as per plan
  • Collaborate with other staff, such as the district level FP Managers and Technical Officers, and M&E officer in the development of project activities
  • Document project progress, including reporting key events and programs and share program director and team.
  • Provide input on programs for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS or Bachelor’s degree is required; Master degree in public health or related discipline will be an advantage,
  • Experience including with a background in family planning or maternal health programs
  • At least three to Six (6) years of mid-level experience managing and/or supporting family planning or maternal health programs
  • Demonstrated experience supporting FP/Maternal Health programs in Bangladesh, including experience coordinating program activities with in-country partners, governmental and non-governmental partners
  • Working experience with private sector partners will be added advantage
  • Creative ideas or interest in innovative solutions would be desirable
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Prior experience working in Bangladesh, with a thorough understanding of the current context and health situation in Bangladesh
