We are also the market leader in Bangladesh and are looking for young and energetic Shift Officers in multiple functions like Dye House, Engineering, Laboratory and Final Winding. The job will be based at Rajendrapur. 

The purpose of the job is to manage process control and continuous improvement within the shift to meet stipulated productivity, efficient and utilization targets to achieve target throughput and service level following Health & Safety standard, to supervise all technical aspects of the relevant department, ensuring that products and processes meet Coats technical specification, IE standards and desired performance levels against set KPIs; to ensure that the labour force work allocations are managed, that they are trained and skilled to perform their duties in an efficient and safe manner with a view to achieving set KPIs; to gain knowledge, skills and experience necessary to take on the responsibilities of the department manager that forms part of the plants succession plan; and to actively participate in continuous improvement activities aimed at achieving and maintaining world class manufacturing performance.

The role will be primarily accountable for the followings:

  • Manage and direct shift wise activities of relevant function’s technical aspects, including all personnel matters (time, attendance, performance, etc) providing expertise, encouragement whilst ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards
  • Monitor functional KPIs, i.e. productivity, efficiency & utilization figures, Right First time, Color Quality, Manufacturing Lead Time, etc. and ensure that achievements are in line with set targets.
  • Carry out shift wise analysis on all lots that fail the specified passing criteria. Analysis should be on time and accurate to the best of your abilities.
  • Ensure that production is carried out in compliance with all relevant safety, health, quality and environmental management policies and SOPs to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products / services and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Ensure staffs and operators maintain a high level of capability through the provision of ongoing training, support and both formal and informal performance assessment and feedback.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management process through innovation and encourage employees to embrace change, understand and follow new processes and procedures put in place, in order to achieve the objectives of the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account `Coats best practice`, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Textile Engineering /Electrical Engineering/ Industrial and Production Engineering graduate from any reputed university.
  • Should possess Team management skills
  • Should be results oriented, analytical, time bound, able to work in pressure
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Working experience in SAP environment will be preferable
